New rims

Got new rims put on last week, but was met with a plethora of problems, so I just now got them finished. Got 18" Enkei LS-5 blacks. Nexon 5000 tires too. Calipers don't look that great, so I still need to paint them. Probably painting them red.

I would say just lower the car and it will look great, but it looks good now...what problems were you having when installing?

+1. This is just my opinion but they make the car look cheap! The rear just looks weird. What kind of problems did you run into? This is the first time I hear about Nexen tires on an MB, and after doing a quick google search I found they are around $75 ea. .

Yeah, maybe he got them for free or something, but I would personally never pay money for those rims and tires. Black rims already look smaller because of the color and the design of these particular rims makes things even worse by having a stepped inner lip. The color + the rim design makes the rims look small and awkward. Not a big fan of the tires either, but hey...it's your safety.

Also, am I seeing that tire size correctly? 225/30/18?

I figured most people wouldn't like them, but I do. Don't really see many black wheels on a MB, and I can kind of see where you're coming from, about it looking cheap, but eh. I'm not sure how everything broke down individually for the wheels and tires, but it was 1700 for everything.

First, they were missing the hubcentric spacer, so I had to wait for those to come in, and when they finally did come in, the lug nuts were too large and rubbing against the calipers in the front, so I had to bring it back and switch them out. Really nothing major, but everything considered, I wasn't able to drive it for about a week.

Ouch $1700 ...I did a quick search for the wheels and didn't find them costing more than $175 ea. That's $700, I really doubt that those tires, spacers, and lugs cost $1k. Did the $1700 include installation and alignment? For that money you could of had some nice 19's!

Was 1700 out the door, so yeah, covered installation, alignment, balancing, etc. Probably could've gotten a better deal, but I had lots of trouble even finding black rims that would fit my car, so I kind of impulsively jumped at the opportunity.
