08 S550, 10 GLK350, 05 Clk500
has anyone actually installed these headers (AMS) on a clk500. I see a lot of posts, but only perhaps a clk55 and a v6 w210. Would they make the car much louder (i.e. do you lose sound insulation from the original exhaust manifold). Not very much feedback or even members buying these.

I bought a set, they are on there way to Dubai with all my other parts. They should change the note of the exhaust somewhat but the overall volume should be very close to what you'll get out of a set of factory manifolds. The AMS headers are tubular exhaust manifolds or shorties - long tube headers work and sound quite different. Regardless, I made my decision to buy based on the build quality and a fairly good customer write up on them (installed on a SLK).
