CLK500 Upgraded with Speedtuning USA ECU

hmm do we get to customize our tune? Like I want the tune to be for 91 octane gas. I read somewhere that someone got tuned for something higher than 91. And how far into red line will the engine go before upgearing by itself? Will ECU flash affect Touch shift feature? For example now, if I leave in first gear and floor it all the way the car will automatically shift to second when I hit redline without me manually upgearing. If I get the ECU flash will my car still automatically upgear when I hit redline without me manually upgearing?

lol where is this groupbuy even at right now? missing one?
mmm i wondered about the 93 vs 91 oct too. cali has 91 rofl. i wonder if oliver is able to post pics of the dyno sheets if the 93 vs 91. i assume the 91 tune will gain less.
and also, i forgot to quote but what was that about we only need 10 for the gb? anyone after that is cool...haha will we get special pricing for a limited a time?

You only need 10 for the group buy, anyone after that can join, but you need 10 payments to get it going. That is what Oliver told me a week ago when I was there getting my tune. So 10 people with money need to step up for the GB to happen.

so once we have 10 people, everyone will need to make paypal payment I assume. And in case we do not get the 10 payments in, we will have a choice to pay more and still get the tune with out the group buy discount or get our payment redounded?
As for 91 vrs 93, I understood that we need 93 octane do to high compression engines. Thats all I put in to my to avoid knocking, ruin your knock sensor and increase carbon buildup. I think 92 is the lowest one should go if you don;t have 93 in your area.

The Group Buy is just missing 10 paypal payments, there were 14 people on the original list but as you can tell not all of them were serious about it. Oliver needs 10 paypal payments for the group buy to begin. I think we will have to restart the list with those with serious interest and have the money to paypal once the list fills up.

93 vs 91, there is no hp difference to my knowledge. higher octane gas does not give you more power, with 93 octane it helps to prevent detonation and ping'ing so you can have more of a safe way with the tune. I'm sure 91 will be fine, if all else fails and you experience ping'ing on a hot summer day, you can add some octane booster or torqe co (spelling?) to raise your octane.

Yes, there is a big difference if your tuned is based on 91 or 93 octane. You have to understand that "timing" is what make power. The higher the timing without any knock/pinging, the more power you going to make. Since 93 octane has a much slower burn rate then 91, it allow the tuner to run higher timing to make more power. Believe it or not, Mercedes has 3 differences setting for gas octane and timing to match that you can pick in the ECU setting. They have these features in the ECU because of difference country used differences octane rating. I discovered these features back in 2002 when I was doing the tuning on my Slk 230.
As for the group buy, I was under the impression that we have a choice to select the options of sending in the ECU or pay the $500 deposit for the programmer. I choose the programmer option and find out that they don't have one for my car.

Anyone have a dyno figure? I doubt any of us will get 30hp gain from a tune.
Do you have any clue or a dyno of a 550 you guys have done to show a dyno number? I agree that 25+ is unrealistic yet Fluid MotorUnion seemed to get 28whp from their tune (not sure how).
I'm 100% IN for this tune if i can just see a dyno of what i should expect with K&N Filerts, 2nd Cat delete and a tune.
If you guys can provide a dyno i'd be more than happy to pay full price for the tune, i just wanna know what i'm getting is what i think.
Thanks
Please be conservative in your power estimates... don't expect the moon (25+ is unrealistic). ECU gains are often exaggerated. Hardware gains will always exceed ECU gains so keep that in mind. With that said you will make good gains and it is a good upgrade to have for this price.

Everyone that is involved with this group buy should send check or money order to:
speed tuning usa
2203 Spencerville Road
Spencerville, MD 20868
USA
make sure to include that this is the group buy payment,
when they get all payments they will proceed to tune everyone.
I will be deleting my secondary cats this week and doing a dyno pull, then i will run a dyno after the tune.
Even if this tune only gives 10-15whp and better throttle response with no speed limiter i am sold.
Best bang for the buck in my book for our cars.

OK guys the reason for Check or Money order is to keep this group buy commitment meaning once you in you cannot back out which could happen with paypal. If even one person backs out this whole group buy is over. People that have ECU on top of the engine the price is 299 and you cannot get the tuner, people with ECU on the side is 199 and you can get the tuner for a $500 deposit.
Pricing:
ECU on top 299
ECU on the side: 199
Hope everyone got it.
