CLK500 Upgraded with Speedtuning USA ECU
#402
I'd have to see a dyno to see I'm not wasting my money -thus id feel more safe-. And based on the review of the guys on the bored I'd see if it's safe to pull the trigger or not. Why are you so concerned about me? Worry about yourself and getting your moneys worth

C'mon! take a chance, people.
For a mere few hundred bucks, you get to experiment and see if your car will perform better regardless of dyno readings or what not. Your personal objective opinion will justify your spending. Hell! You might spend more to buy a couple pair of jeans nowadays.
As for the safe operation of your car; I am pretty sure Speedtuning had taken that into consideration and make sure they will not mess up your car and get sued...
For those that are too paranoid, do no mod, take no chance., go buy a Honda.

I agree that the tune is a GREAT price bur I'm not worried about the price. That's why I'd rather pay double for a Powerchip. I'd just rather know what I'm getting and make sure I'm not the companies mistake they learned from.
And FYI if your engine blows you won't get jack suing Speedtunnung.....they have no warrantee and more thank likely put this tune as a off road use to cover their rear end. Not sure about you but gambling on 25k engine is just stupid to me.

Oliver is the man to talk to at Speedtuning, Tel.: 301-421-9464 Website: http://www.speedtuningusa.com/
Omey is the guy to talk to at AMS, (website is provided)

I understand your concerns about the tune Americanmade. Perhaps you should go with Powerchip/Kleeman/Renntech/Brabus/Carlsson for the piece-of-mind of going with a world renowned tuner.

Ha, Ha! I don't take my car to the Stealership anymore, I have my TRUSTED indy mechanic do all my warranty work!

Hm..i wonder if i got a tune -this or powerchip- if the dealership would have any problems with it and if it would come up if i don't mention it.
I'll try to contact Oliver or Omey to get some more info i could not get through countless emails. I'm gonna hold off to see how people here think of their tune and how it holds up. Thanks for the info brotha

If they are looking for it, then they will be able to find out. But they won't looking for it until something is damages like blown engine, tranny...etc. You got another problem to worry about since your car is very new and that is, dealer radomly doing software upgrades. They usually always do this type of software upgrade if you complains about engine, tranny etc. not running smooth. If and when they do this, it will over ride your mods software. The headache is you have to send your ECU back again for another software mods.
#414
sounds fair i think, since you have no problem blowing $1500 for a tune.
#415
So you're gonna get a tune and assume that you got 15whp? I'd think if you're spending money for a tune you'd wanna konw exactly how much power you got(if any)..but i guess that's just me. I'll contact Oliver and see if he can send me a dyno-graph of a 550.

Yup, that's the way that 99% of the people here have done it. Now a days you could spend $200 in a blink of an eye. We spend $100 on aftermarket air filters and how much power do we get from those?

so i open my engine bay to see where the brackets are for the ecu.. and then i notice the rubber tube that connects to the intake was not connected and was just laying there... i was like WTF! so i connectd it back , reset my ECU and walla i fell my low end torque is back once again, almost snapped my neck.

yeah man i hope it's nothing major you know the one with arrow pointing to connect to air box.
anyways looks like i will be sending my ECU this friday so we can show people like Americanmade the diff between stock clk550 and one with ECU.
right now me and badblack550 are equal tested that many times.. so 1-2 cars after ecu tune is plausible if it gets 15whp+

no need for dyno why waste $200+ when 3 of my friends have clk550 we ran many times cars stay neck and neck on many runs, after i do the ecu we will see by how many cars i win, lose or if it does anything at all.
if car is dynoed at diff tyime temp of the day, it will always be off, but when 2 of the same cars run in the same conditions the outcome should show.
