Quote: dont quote me on the 1500 i had that that on my other car, i dont even think oliver will raize the limiter, all he is doing is mixing more air and gas in to the engine over the factory mixture.

i still don't understand what the fuss is all about.... this is a very simple tune, and very safe it's not maxing out our cars out put.

The basic tuned on a stock engine is by advance the timing a little bit to lean out the air fuel ratio and that why everyone reported better gas mileages.

As for safe (i'm not sure) because of known air fuel ratio after tune and do they unsolder the chip to do the tune with cars that have the ECU on the top of the engine and not max out the car, (in term of power)I agreed. Since NO ONE ever shown any real world dyno after tuned, I don't know what the air fuel ratio at with the tune. The stock engine air fuel ratio is around 12-12.5:1. With the ECU tuned, it still safe if the air fuel ratio around 13.0-13.5:1. Anything higher then that would reduce the life of the engine in a long term because the engine combustion temperature is risen and heat will wear parts out much faster. Btw, fuel is not just for burn inside the engine but also acted to cool the engine.

Quote: No one is that stupid to risen the rev bu 1500 rpm on any stock engine. It normal to risen it by 500 rpm.
I hope not, that's why i wish Oliver was on this thread to make things more clear since it seems the people getting the tune are not sure either.

Has he given you any kind of info on what the tune is? If so our answer will be on there...if not i'd be nice to see if he's raising it at all or by 1500...makes a big differences it seems.

+5. Never knew he was on the forum.

Hopefully Oliver can join this thread and answer some Q's for us that need answers. If not i'm sure BlackBenz will get some kind of info on what Oliver did to his ECU when he gets it back? I'd assume?

Is this is most up to date list we have? I'd be willing to pay an extra couple dollars or so per tune & just get this over with...what do you guys think?

Just want to verify - I have a 2005 clk500 cabriolet - what is the GB price? If it's $199 I'm in for sure. Where do I send the check?

Check to see If your ECU is up top or on the side

That's the problem. I don't know how and I figured all 2005 clk 500 cabriolets would be the same. So how do I do that? What am I looking for?

Check a couple pages back. Either the ECU is on top of the airbox or it's on the drivers side inside the box of fuses. Check out page 1 of this thread and you will see the OPs pic of the ECU on the side.

Bob, I also have an '05 CLK Cab, and the ECU is on the side. The tune is $199 for us.

I would like to know more about the air/fuel mixture, dyno charts, and RPM limiters. If everything looks on the up and up, I have 2 clk500s that may be in.

Also want to know if this affects throttle response. In other words, does it make sense or is it foolish (repetitious) to run with a sprint booster?

I have been running it with a sprint booster for a few months now with no problems.

How do we send deposit for the programmer? Will that be a second check later on after this finally closes, then would we have to wait for it to not be needed in the shop, then mail it back, then wait for a check to be returned?

Would paypal be an option so we could shave 3 weeks off this process??/

once you send in check or money order for the tune, and once Speed tunin g has all 10 payments from everyone, he will contact you in the order the check ware received then you can deposit 500 via paypal and the tuner will be shipped out to you, once you ship programmer back the $500 deposit will be released back to you.
