CLK350
ECU question

When ordering an ECU, is it typically a DIY install? Or can you take it to the dealership to get it done? Or does it have to be taken to an independent shop? I'm planning on getting one in the future for my 350, but I'm not really sure which one to get. I'm thinking Renntech, but it's a bit pricey. Any suggestions?

most of us usually go through speedtuningusa. i wouldnt splurge on renntech unless i have a 500/550 or a 55/63. put your money elsewhere.

Alright, sounds good. I just looked at Speedtuningusa and their prices are a lot more reasonable. However, unless I just overlooked it which I don't think I did, I didn't see an option for CLK350, only 320. Will the 320 ECU work, considering that the 350 replaced the 320?

It will work for all..you can take your ECU out and send it to them or they will send u the programmer unit to do by yourself (deposit required but you will get it back). Call and ask for Oliver. I used to have them to tune my 320 ECU.

+1. You can email Oliver too, he's good with responses. And make sure you tell him it's a CLK350.

I emailed Oliver during this week. He says it's $325 for the 350 engine. and up to 294HP and 375Nm torque.

The ECU placement for 350 engines is different from the V8's. Here is a w204 DIY on how to remove the ECU
