what type of vinyl did you get? where did you purchase from? how much did you pay? I plan on doing this in the next week or so.
also, any tips on how to go around the door handles? how many feet of vinyl did you need?

2004 clk 320
I was thinking of doing matte black on my clk,but now I decided with doing the roof matte and getting matte black wheels. I think the gloss black on my car would go good with it. But awesome job looks sweet

At the risk of sounding like an idiot here - I din't know that you could 'stack' spring pads? The CLK500 comes with the #4 pads from the factory, so there isn't anything thicker than that. I am going to drop on H&R's and was concerned that the drop on the rear would be uneven with the front - if I can stack pads then I have a good option to level it out if need be.
Thanks for the inadvertant support/info

I was going to have something custom made from a block of vulcanized rubber. The pads (from drawings I've seen) are cone shaped, so it might well be possible that they could be stacked & sealed together with an epoxy.
Pics & details about this job (thread) would be very usefully to the forum.

I actually didn't install it myself. I wanted a higher spring pad to even out the front/rear H&R springs. After I swapped out the stock one for the new one I purchased, I didn't notice much difference. This was when the mechanic told me that I could actually put both of them in. If I remember correctly, he mentioned something about putting one on top, and one below. As for how safe it is, I've been driving on it for a couple months without any problems. Sorry I don't have pictures

If you ever find yourself under your car with a camera I'd appreciate a pic. Thanks for your reply.
