Im using k&n and its pretty good so far, no problems yet *knocks on wood*. I noticed that the engine is 'lighter' and its more willing to shift up a gear sooner and rev lower. There is a whole debate whether K&n filters are good or bad. Check out this video on youtube. what they pretty much said is that over oiling will NOT damage the MAFs.

There are 4 parts to it, hope this helps.
gd luck

I was looking at parts.com before and the only list filters for the 350 and the 550. Based on that I would assume the 500 and 550 share the same filters. I could be wrong though. The main difference that I can see with the kevlar tubes is they are much bigger than the plastic one and allow more air.

Now the decision is greenfilters or K&N.
Do you know which cars have the kevlar tubes? is it from a 550 or a 55?

Gotcha. Anyone konw if the CLK550/350 filter will be the same for the CLK55 airfilter? I'm planning on doing the AMG air-box and i don't wanna pay another $100 for air-filters.

They all using the same filters. I checked with K&N site and ended up with the same part numbers. E55,CLK55,CLK550 and CLK350 all using the same #.

Yes sir, you wouldn't be able to do the conversion because your ECU is on top, correct?
