Hill roll back feature

Hi Everyone,

We have a 2006 CLK350 and I believe I read on the forum somewhere that the car has an anti-hill roll back feature(not sure if that's the correct name). But it's a feature preventing the car from rolling backwards from an incline while the car is in Drive.

We have a 08 BMW 335 and we love this feature because we use it daily due to our very steep driveway.

Thoughts?

it works when your on your W or whatever is not S or sport or standard mode.

just click one of the modes on your shifter and try. its W for more. probably C for you

I have C and S mode, I've tried in both modes and the car still rolls back...

yup. when i use W, it just stops. but most of the time, i just lightly hit gas to keep the car in place or just on the brakes

Older CLK's have W/S instead of C/S. I always keep mine on C and my car usually rolls when parking on a hill...Haven't tried pushing a little harder on the brake before letting go yet like stated in the other secrets thread

Does the S button do anything to the suspension or is it just a higher shift point and starts off in first gear?

lol i wish. S button usually starts off in first gear only. shift points are typically the same. i think W/C was so that you dont lose traction off the rear tires. correct me if im wrong. =p

SLK280(Gone), C63, CLK550
I do not have this feature on my 07CLK550.

The feature is on my 09 C63, on a hill the brake pedal stays down, so I think if you have this feature it is very 'obvious'.
