clunk from rear
hey guys, from a stop, when i accelerate hard, i hear a clunk from the rear. its only from a stop and only when i get on the throttle. under normal driving conditions, or accelerating slowly from a stop, there is no noise. anyone know what this could be? My coilovers are practically brand new and if its the shocks ill be pissed. any help is appreciated as always. Thanks.

When I switched my tail lights I completely took apart the trunk lining...You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I found rolling around...Definitely take some time and lift the liner to see if anything is back there...Maybe something is loose

yeah i think it might have been my snow removal tool that was hitting the trunk. Im gonna check that after work as well as lift the liner as dynomite suggested

Ok so I removed the snow removal tool and have nothing else in my trunk. I lifted up the lining and there is nothing. I do have my spare and all equipment in there. Could that be the source of the noise?

i would put my money on the snow removal tool for the reason causing the noise. Mercedes actually has good dampening for the stock sound system. they have a layer of dampening on the doors.
but only way to find out is to floor it and see =D

Well I can tell you guys it's nothing in my trunk making that noise. I believe it's the rear suspension. If I put enough preside on the rear it "knocks". ****in brand new suspension and I already have to go to the shop. Again.

Okay, so you may have gotten this problem fixed already and if so, great. However for anybody else searching through here with the same problem I thought I would give the resolution the dealer did for me with my similar problem.
I had the exact same clunk and squeaky noise from the rear of my car. The clunk happened at low speeds and either over speed bumps or going around a corner up hill at low speeds. Sounded kind of like metal on metal. So I took it into the dealer and luckily on our test drive I was able to reproduce.
The squeaking noise was the rear sway bar link arm and they replaced it under warranty, the clunk was an unseated spring in the rear. They re-seated and rotated the spring and now no noise. Not sure if this is your problem or not, but it's worth a shot.
Good luck!

I also have KW V2 and started to have a vibration on the rear when passing the 3000rpm!
Checked all the suspension, even teste the shock on a shock tester machine and they look to be ok , only a 2 % difference from left to right at the rear.
Don't know what to do... will leave the car at the dealer to check engine and transmission mounts...

guys,i also have some clunking going on back there.it seems to me that when you lower and stiffen the car things wear out much faster.a thorough investigation of the undercarriage by my mechanic reveled collapsed cross member mounts.makes sense

hmmm that vibration is weird....i have never had anything like that with my KW V2. But my clunking noise also has gone away for quite sometime now. I think it had something to do with when the car was lowered, it was in between clicks (if that makes sense)but im not completely sure.. It sounded like shocks were going..but like i said, i havent heard it for a long time now and hopefully it doesnt come back.

That does make sense...ive also heard that it could be the sway bar links that are worn and need to be replaced.

PS: Did you guys let the stock shock rebound setup of the KW V2 or did you changed it rigth away?
I have all as they came from factory, and I like it, but the rear is more harsh then the front, I'm thinking putting a bit more rebound at front.
I will also try to put less rebound at the rear to see if it gives a different result with the vibration.

the dealer could not find anything relating to my 'clunk'
i think it is related to the electronic stability control
straight ahead launch yields nothing
only happens to me when moving from stop and turning the front wheels
