Quad exhaust on stock bumper
Hey...
i always wanted to do the quad exhaust on my car
but since it's a 320 so it has the stock body kit ...
so, my question is : will it look nice to have quad exhaust on a stock rear bumper
u can see the pics below:

i think it will look nice if the cut is done right.
if you were planning on doing it, i would get the tips you want first and then plan how you want to cut it. i think the stock cut for the exhaust on the 320s are about 6 in. i figure 2 tips on each side and a gap in between the two tips would equal to about 10 in total. i need to cut 4 in on one side and measure out the other to cut a 10in spacing for the tips.
best idea would get a professional body shop to do it for you. there are a couple of members that have done this. andy (Mbenz) is one of them. but he sold his 320. the quad exhuast looks dope tho.
the sad part is that if its not done right or the cut looks off, there goes an entire rear bumper. so we gotta make sure. LOL

In the next 2-3 weeks, I'm going to cut my bumper, install my Carbon Fiber rear diffuser and quad exhaust. I plan on creating a thread documenting my experiences and lessons learned.

+1. Below is a link to a thread that talks about how to cut the bumper as well as how to install a Carbon Fiber diffuser.

That's Awesome Carlos. I should be doing the same in the next month or so. I came across a thread in the w204 section I believe or a member installing the c63 diffuser and quad tips. Apparently the C63 diffuser has brackets that attach to the car. The brackets are cheap and I wonder if they would work for our cars. I'm trying to find it...but of course when you need something you could never find it...
don't be shy to share what happens with u during the process

now the question is what muffler are you going to use? i would assume magnaflow would be an ideal choice. i once had a thought about buying an eisenmann that was on here for like 400 or so. putting it where the stock resonator is and putting straight pipes from there to the bumper outlets. of course you can do this to a mag too. haha but exhaust will come much later for me. i got some loose ends to tie up first.
i'm still not sure about the muffler... i'll try to find magnaflow since it's not that easy here in Lebanon (middle east)
but thx anyways

I had talked to some body shops about cutting the bumper to add a second pipe, but I was told that after a short while, the bumper will crack, or something along those lines, because of the material it's made of. Did those guys just not know what they're talking about or is there some element of truth behind that?

I believe there might be some truth to that. If the cut isn't made correctly I could see the bumper cracking. There has been a few people who have cut their bumpers here on this board and I haven't come across anyone with this problem
