Gas Mileage on w209 sucks!!
My clk gas mileage sucks
most of the time i get 10 mpg in city and SOMETIMES 15 mpg
in highway i only get 22-24 mpg
the listed mpg is 19 city 27 highway
dos anyone else have the same mpg as me?
is there sth wrong with my car? OR is it causd by the way i drive?
btw i rarely drive agressively in city and on highway the best i can get with cruise is 24mpg
if i dont drive in highway i think the whole tanks only lasts less than 200 miles
thanks
*btw i also often drive short range (less than 3 miles)

it's probably the way you drive. Rapid acceleration and braking wastes gas. Also...if you are only driving 3 miles at a time, I am assuming there is some traffic. Idling gives you 0 mpg, so that too will wear down you gas mileage. And when on the highway, remember that the faster you drive, the more gas you burn...as gas mileage decreases rapidly when you get over 60.
I don't drive aggressively, and even with my 18" rims I still average around 23mpg, and 3/4 of my commute is in stop and go traffic. I can get over 300 miles with a full tank.

maybe that's the reason why your gas mileage is so bad. I paid special attention to my mpg reading this morning and noticed that for the first 5 miles, my mpg hovered between the 8-12 mpg range. But after about 10 min....basically once I got moving and the car warmed up, it shot up into the low 20s.

CLK 240
I've now done about 9,000 miles and have average 30.8 MPG. I live in London, so it's not exactly interstate driving, but I have done a couple of long distance runs.

What are you guys complaining about with 15mpg? That sounds like a stinkin bargain. That is uber mileage compared with my black hole of petrol ingesting red beast. If you need to complain man the geo metros. After buying a 50K+ car why are you worried about saving the last buck fifty. Everyone hold onto their wallets we have a cheapskate in the house.
