My opinion on tints is, why waste money if people can still see through them?

I go with 20% on all my cars.

And yes, I know tints are for more than looks, but still, i think 20%is perfect.

some people buy tint for UV/sunlight protection
not looks

why dont you get V-kool clear?
it gives you much more protection against heat or light than any other brand
yet it looks clear

the darker the better.

like i said, tints do keep cooler and block uv, but darker tints keep the car cooler, and block more uv!

you might not see why, but obviously people out there dont agree with you either. some might not want the restricted visibility, and dont mind sacrificing some of the uv protection. basically any little bit of tint helps, and when it comes to looks i can guarantee not everybody has the same taste....

Guys what do you think about tints for protection purposes?

I mean sometimes you dont want to attract the wrong kind of attention because maybe you look too young driving a nice car, or maybe women want less attention when they drive a nice car like a CLK..etc etc.. i dunno im just thinking out loud..what are your opinions?

And why is it that Tint is illegal in CA?

what do you mean look too young? i am very young and i am proud to drive each of the cars i have! i have limo tint on my h2 and 20 on my viper. i have the limo b/c i think it gives it a secure look, not that i dont want people seeing me. and my viper, it is already hard enough not to get pulled over, so i got the darkest i could leagally.....as far as protection purposes, i think it helps significantly! the less sun on your leather, the better....

limo is a bit much

limo is arite in the back but in front its too much isnt it? It took me a while to get used to 20s

Anyway, 35s are the legal limit in NY but then again its not really enforced here anyway. Just roll down the window and give you local friendly police officers a wave.

And also, make sure your seatbelt is on.

Not really. I have limo on my Typhoon with 50% on my front window and I can see perfectly fine. It helps with people who like to drive with there brights on. I am getting my clk done in limo next week.
