2004 clk 500
new to the mb world.......have a few qs...
ok i have never owned a german car before i was always a huge muscle car fan.. well still am needless to say i bought a 2004 clk 500 with some amg features.
1st.. i had some idiot back into my car so i need a drivers fender where is the best place to get one.
2 how do i turn off the traction control completly.
3 is there any way to upgrade the car with tuning that can be done by hand programming or something like that.
i also have a 71 camaro with a 671 blown sbc and am the kind of person to tinker so i have owned the car for over a year and am dying to get my paws into it a littlemore but need to know the basics of this w209 before i get in over my head. thanks in advance guys..

Welcome to the forum. You will find a ton of info here. Sorry to hear that somebody hit you already. To answer your questions
1. The drivers side fender is part # 2098800318 and it is available through parts.com brand new for $243.80. That's unpainted. You might be able to find a used one on ebay for less.
2. To turn off traction control you could put your car into "dyno mode". Bad news is I don't think dyno mode work for an 04.
3. You could get a ECU tune that will give you increased throttle response, better gas mileage, and a bump in HP/TQ. There are a few different companies that can do this.

Dyno mode most deffinitley works for an 04 CLK 500!
The CLK500s in the US all have the same AMG items. It's not a true AMG car, you need the engine for that. Thanks for your service.

Welcome to the board from another SBC tuner (former) and Middle East dweller. There are quite a few performance upgrades for the 500 ranging from swapping air-boxes (E55), upgrading camshafts, exhaust/headers to superchargers. I've decided to do moderate performance mods to my 500 and put more focus into the suspension - mashing the pedal and going in a straight line was fun back in the day but I've evolved into being a real fan of roadcourse racing now.

Thanks Wes. I just bought my new camera and got my car back from MB (it was in for the trans module for almost 3 weeks), it was all cleaned up nicely so I thought I'd snap a nice sig pic. While I was at it I took pics 360 so I can do a good before-after when the car is done.
Thanks again for the comment pal, I'd toss one back at you but I've comment on your car so many times beofore I might come across as having a 'Wes-car-fetish'.
