Black Series Brakes

Some pics of the BS rear brakes that just came in. I was expecting them later in the week so you could imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to get them this morning. These things are beautiful in person. So much so that I'm faced with a color dilemma. I was originally going to paint these to match my Brembos but now I might do it the other way around.

Yea, basically bolt-on for the rear. The fronts require more modification, that's why I went with the Brembos. The parking brake, calipers, and rotors came out to $1178 + shipping. I'm try to get low dust brake pads which should run around $100.

Yup the rears fit. I believe the BS and the CLK63 share the same rear brake setup, it's the front that's different. $3400 will probably cost you around $250-$300 to ship....lol

I haven't put them on yet, so can't tell you. They should fit without problems, but I have learned nothing is ever as easy as it sounds. Bought them from Parts.com.

YOu better keep your car at least for the next 5 years otherwise it will be wasted for all the parts.

Suggestions? Opinions? Should I paint the Brembos silver or the BS's red?

Based on the Rotors parts code R171, it look to me it from the Slk 55. The rear AMG 4 pistons calipers are almost universal for all AMG models anyway. Don't know how much you got it, but wouldn't it be smarter to get the kit from an SLK 55, CLK 55, Clk 63 rather then the CLK BS which is priced almost double? It look nice but I'm not sure if it would improve your braking performance or make it worse due to the grip percentages changed from the normal 4/2 or 6/4 to 4 piston front and 4 back. Hope your rear does not lock up before the front on hard braking situation. The normal idea grip is around 70% front to 30% rear or 60% front to 40% rear grip but never 50% grip front and 50% grip rear.

CLk63 BS and CLK63 share the same rear brake setup. The rotors were $138 each, can't imagine it getting much cheaper than that. Thank for the compliments though

Wow.......that really cheap rotors and I couldn't believe it so I took another look at the pics and noticed that it not the true Mercedes CLK BS 2-pieces flot rotors.

The 2 piece rotor is only for the front.

To be honest, mine 2006 has the 4/2 pistons calipers (old AMG caliper from 2003-2005 C55 and Clk 55) and it look nice but the new C300 class brake performances WAYSSSSSSSSSSS better then the old AMG calipers.

Yes, for the Slk code R171 but for the Clk code is W209 but that might be just for the front and the rear are the same parts numbers. There are big different in rotors thickness from the Slk AMG rotor and CLK "BS" rotors.

Yea, the front are specific to the BS. Here is the info I used. First is a pic of the Rear brakes, and second is a pic of the Front Brakes (code:P98 for BS). Run the part #'s for the front rotors, $679 each .. Here is the link of the BS's VIN I used...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...fCarsQ5fTrucks

No prob, GL with those front brakes....I'm glad I don't have to replace my front rotors for a while, I'm not looking forward to spending $325 a rotor..
