ok my friend and i tried to figure out why the left stop lamp was still blinking and still, it blinks. we tried swapping resistors again, checking the ohm and voltage of every wire and still, it won't work when the daytime led is working, the top blinks. and when the stop lamp works, the bottom starts blinking. what else can it be?

yeah it seems like both the resistors on the left side won't work at the same time. if the top works, the bttom doesn't and vise versa. i'll email the guy i got it from and see what he says

I ordered a set and they are supposed to arrive on Friday. Since the car is packed away for the winter I dunno when I will get around to installing them, but the guy on ebay is now selling them as "error free". Hopefully i don't have to troubleshoot. The look is very nice.

Man those tails look great, by far one of my favorite cosmetic mods for the CLK.

Mine arrived Friday, but since the high was 10 degrees and I needed to go to Cleveland for the weekend they are still sitting in the box. I did see there were instructions with them. In Chinese and very poorly translated English. Will eventually get around to installing. Quality is very nice.

Ok, so I bit the bullet on these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT
After all I read, can I get confirmation on everything I need?
1. Updated bulb brackets (Part # 209 820 0877 & 209 820 0777)
2. A pair of 25W 5.7ohm resistors
3. Metallic zip ties
4. Bend some piece of metal to make the housing fit?

Those are the correct part number for the brackets.
As for the resistors, you won't need them. Carlos and I were one of the first to buy the LED tail so we needed the extra resistors for the brake lights. Since then, all the LED tails sold come with the brake resistors included.
Zip ties?
Yes you will have to bend a piece of the body back. Hit me up when you're ready and I will send you some pics.

Thanks for the clarification, Wes. I ordered the set of used brackets you posted. I thought I needed the zip ties to mount the resistors like what Carlos did on his. Can't wait to drop these in among everything else

No prob. You will need to mount two black boxes on each side. I guess you could zip tie them, but to what? I actually have them hanging from the 2 lower screws for the tail light at the moment until I get them screwed into the body. They will make a huge difference, you won't be disappointed.

2006 Facelift CLK500 Cab-
If you do need resistors there is a little metal bracket that pops off inside the trunk lid where I put mine for my license plate lights.
