05-CLK500 vs 07-IS 350
ok anyone here ever runs with one of those ? I got this dude want to run mine 500. The guy has the intake, exhaust and lowered on 350z wheels . My basically is stock except for K&N filters and straight pipe (no muffler). What do you guys think ? is he going to rape me ? Should I run with him ? My friend with the C55 just raped him pretty bad earlier lolz.

I'll be honest, money is on the IS350, but it wouldn't be "rape." The 3.5 V6 is quite efficient, and pretty powerful to boot. 0-60 ranges between as low as 4.9 to 5.4, quarter mile at high 13's to low 14's. I'd say you would give him a run for his money, and you might take a car length or two from a roll.
But id definitely rather be seen driving the CLK over the IS.

I love the way those 350's look and run. I was quite surprised when I test drove one. Pure sleeperd nice power stck and I think it would be a close or drivers race.

Unfortunately, the guy wasnt there tonite . Hopefully, we can do next time. I think it would be very close race. I ran with my friend CLK500 earlier and I beat him...we are in the same year I think I got the healthy 500 but we'll see next time with the IS350.

About a week ago my wife and I were on our way home when this jackass in a Infiniti G37S coupe when flying by us weaving in and out of traffic, we both got stopped at the next set of lights, I was behind him. At green he gunned it, I did maybe a second or so later and it looked like I was hanging wth him no problem, closing the gap slowly. Next set of lights, again behind him I launched when he did and had to let off the gas to maintain my distance (and not hit him, the CLK really launched harder than he did), I was definately reeling him in, albeit sowly. Once we hit 100mph I was easily outpacing him but shut it down, thats fast enough for me on a side road with traffic merging a half mile up a head.
I'm 100% positive that if I lined up side by side & launched at green I'd put about a lenght or so between us and keep widening the gap. The G37S coupe is definately a quick car, not sure how it measures up to the IS350 but I would imagine that the performance must be similar since they are competing brand models - no?
Not a kill story, just me curious and finding out what I wanted to.
Run him Andy, just be smart/safe in doing so.

v8 should and may always dominate when it comes to 0-60 versus a v6... but things change when going above 60...

do you have a tune? i've never raced one.my prediction is from a dig it's anyones race.but from 70-140 you will pull on him.thats if you take off in the right gear!! i find it that japanese v6's dont pull very hard up top.dont sweat it.just race and see what the outcome is.be safe.

Have run G35's on several occasions and easily beat them. While not a Lexus the G35 engines are very similar in displacement, HP and torque. Also own a 08G35s (wife's car) and it doesn't pull anywhere near as strong as the Benz.

That's good to hear, I wanted to be sure that the G37 I ran was really giving it, now I'm 100% he was because it was (besides the hole shot) quite even up to 100.

Am i the only one to realize that you have more torque than him? So even if you were heavier your tq would offset that. I'd think you can take him. 6 more hp vs. 60ft tq. CLK FTW
