Eibach vs H&R W209

Which ones you guys think are better? H&R cost about 100 bucks more is there really that much difference in the springs?

Thanks for the help buffy, but they don't fit the 550. They would have been gone a long time ago if they did..lol...The main difference between H&R/Eibach is the height. H&R lower 1.4"Front/1.3"Rear and the Eibachs 1.2" all around.

this topic is but there is a distinct difference between the two

H&R gives a little more drop, but give the rear end a saggy look IMO Looks great on sedans.

Eibach pro-kit gives almost the same drop but gives a more "raked" look. IMO much better on a coupe

I think the h&rs are slightly stiffer.

H&R's look best when you cut the dead coil for the front (giving a bit more of a drop). At that point it looks like coilovers

Top?! Good God I hope he doesn't mean that, he probably means the last bottom coil. Far from a 'dead coil'though, no such thing on a progressive spring.

Cutting coils on a fixed rate spring is a whole different story. Are you dropped Andy?

I'm so torn. I think I'm going with the h and r's. I don't really like the saggy look but I don't find a lot of people that like the eibachs. There seems to be some people who have had eibachs but then got h and r's and none that did the opposite. If your in socal though there's a place in Hollywood that will do them for 399 installed

You could always switch spring pads to raise it a bit.

Yeah that's what I've heard. So when I get them installed I'm going to a bigger spring pad in the rear to try and help compensate. Do I need a special one or do all spring pads work the same

You need to find out what # pads your car comes with. If it's a 500+ it's probably #3(13mm) pad. In which case you could only go up to the #4(17mm) pad.

5MM 2103250184
9MM 2103250284
13MM 2103250384
17MM 2103250484

Thanks Wes and we have to order 2 right ? or is it comes like a pair ? and how do i find out which pad i have ? Do we really have to take everything apart to see the pad thickness ? I guess my question for all the CLK500 owner , do we have all the same pad number on our CLK ?

Sorry for too many questions at once .

Andy
