Thumbs down Intake camshaft magnet went bad today

I started my car up to go to school and the check engine light did not turn off as usual

I couldnt miss class so i drove at the stealer after i was done with all my classes.

Can someone here explain to me the difference between a camshaft magnet and a camshaft solenoid? please?

My warranty said they didnt cover it because it was the camshaft solenoid but on my receipt it says the camshaft magnet was replaced?? are these the same thing?

Seems to me a solenoid is an electrical magnet. Am I missing something?

I was thinking the same but wasn't sure. seems like the dealer and the warranty company are just using different terminology.

Happy early thanksgiving to me lol.

At least it wasn't that expensive. They did charge a bit much for labor though.

yah all i took them was 10 minutes. If i knew better i would just buy the part myself and do it lol.

They start off at 1 hour minimum. So even if it takes them 1 minute its 1 hour. Called stealer for a reason.
I am glad it was just that could of been worse thats for sure
