Yeah seems a little toooooo dark...people won't even see you braking...lol...I was thinking about pre cut tail light tints from rtint and just using it on the clear part of the tail light only...

Wonder how it'll hold up and can be removed if I don't like it...could be something you could think about too...

Those tails are pretty dark and would really look SWEET on a murdered out W209.

@ Newjd2: They wouldn't have any impact on safety, they'd actually be safer than tinting stock taillights because the taillight the OP linked isn't tinted, it's just gray instead of red. The LEDs will light up red when the car is on and be just as bright, if not brighter, than stock taillights.

Here are my stock 07 550 tails tinted with film over the clear part:

I also wouldn't recommend buying pre-cut ones, just because the material is malleable and will expand when you apply it, so it doesn't really matter if it's pre-cut or not. If you buy a whole sheet, at least you can apply it without worrying about lining it up, and then just cut off the excess afterwards.

I recently did this too. Pretty easy really and as Kevblah said a precut isnt better than full roll. That way you can use more if you mess up

Kevblah still not pulling the trigger on a quad?

Just my opinion, I wouldn't install those tailights even if it free.

It would but would he? Or would you, (are you de-badged)? Personally, I wouldn't. From what I have seen for years, most de-badged MB's and Beemers are the base models, very rarely (only once IIRC) have I seen a debadged V8 car. It was a CLK63 AMG BS, he just had the AMG BS tag on the right. That was a statement enough.

To me, that '550' screams 'bad a$$' He has an awesome car.

if the leds actually just light up brightly wihtout that dark tint, i think it'll look alright. well my clk is black, with black rims, so i'd go for that blacked out look. i keep wanting to tint the stock ones but i have a feeling it'll be too dark. so i'm contemplating the led tail lights right now...

I don't think these light would go well with a blacked out car. They will look grey instead of black.

+1, I debadged my '02 C320 (which was hardly the base model), to get that clean look, but I could never debadge my 550, I don't want to blend in with all of the V6 W209s around.

Yea, I used to have a set blacked out. I sold them to BadBlack550, It looks good with the third brake light black also.

They are kind of dark. But if that's the theme you're going for.

Yeah, that's exactly what I think too but I just couldn't described the color when I first saw it.
