specifically though - has anyone tried?

our w209 tail lights have a groove in the clear to red part...not sure if this will still take the film even with a blow dryer.

I did my tail lights (pre face lift), side view mirror, side markers, headlights, and fog lights...

Here are a couple photos...I don't know how the lamin-x is, but the tint I got adhered great, has withstood heavy rain (yes it has been raining heavy in Vegas lately), and was heavily heated when installing...lol...

I agreed and it because of the sportier look with AMG body kit.

Did you just tint the clear part or the entire rear housing? How is the light output of the headlights with the tint? No prob with the cops for tinting headlights?

I used a vinyl tint from ebay so bheng was right...i actually got the idea from kevblah (a user on here who has his post face lift tail lights tinted)...

Here's the link...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dark-...item5d277c1e48

Works and looks great...really gives it that even more aggressive look!!

General: I just have the clear part tinted as I think doing the whole tail light is over kill...doing the clear part only gives it a good accent...

As for the headlights, tails, sidemarkers, side view markers the light output is actually still really good...this tint smokes it out, but keeps the light output well...only lost a little bit I'd say...I'll take some night pics soon so you can see...

Here in Vegas cops really don't care...lol...I was parked next to a cop at a restaurant and he started talking about cars with me and said how he liked the aggressive look from the tint all around from the windows to the lights...lol...so really depends on your area...

If the cops get hard on you just peel it away and it comes off...haha...

If you need any help, suggestions, or more photos let me know...

oh and post some pics general and midnight...let's see what you're working with and kind of get an idea of how it'll look on your specific cars...at first I was a little weary about tinting all around, but I couldn't be happier with the overall look, flow, and color scheme of the car...

crazy man how much it can/ has changed in 2 years...swapping to the amg body kit was a must...i would say that should be first mod for a 320/350...haha...

What are your side view mirrors?...they tinted, painted, or did you buy that certain tint from that one website you linked?...

Andy I'm really considering the front lip in black, the deck lid and/or rear spoiler fin, but....

1. I don't know how it'll look/ flow with my set up
2. Our cars will look even more alike except for the rims
3. Does it scrape? (my civic is low enough)...lol...

And you have that "special" tint right?...isn't it a carbon fiber look?...

The kit definitely changes the whole look of the car. For the mirror turn signals I used VHT Nightshades tint spray. I bought an extra set from parts.com so I could take my time.

What is your ultimate goal as far as a theme goes? I think that the trunk spoiler is a must. What is is rear spoiler fin? Are you saying you want to paint the CF front lip in black?

Most of the mods we do have been done before. Don't worry about your car looking like Andy's, you guys are nowhere near each other.

As far a scraping goes, ***** happens. I have a couple scrapes, but the are underneath and you can't see them without being under the car. How low are you? Wait, didn't you get the springs installed? Where are the pics?

I meant to say the rear roof spoiler...lol!...I don't know if I should get both the rear roof and the rear deck spoiler...color matched or black?...as for the lip...eh...yeah it scrapes it scrapes and true, Andy is far...haha...the more black to match the rims with hints of chrome to match the lip is essentially what I'm going for...

And yeah the springs are installed...drove to Barstow that next day and got it knocked out for wayyyyyy cheaper...don't have any pics yet because it has been raining...hard...for the past couple days in Vegas (weird I know)...

The eibach drop looks great with the #1 pad...I'll have pics up on my thread the first chance I get...

Sorry for thread jack, but when midnight chimes in...we'll give our suggestions...lol...

Do this....Get the front lip and trunk spoiler in Carbon fiber. Paint the roof spoiler to black IF you are going to vynil (or he painted ? not sure) your roof like Wes did. The front lip will scrape no matter how you careful. My front lip have scrapes everywhere (most of them are from my drive way) but that is underneath the lip tho...you cant really see it (black marker will fix this lol).

If you paint/vinyl the roof black then I think a black/CF roof spoiler will look good. If not then color match. Same goes for the trunk spoiler, black/CF if you paint/vinyl the roof. If you leave the lip CF then a Cf trunk spoiler will balance it out.

Andy, I painted my roof. I figured I was never going to want to go back.

BTW: My pic above is an example of the trunk/roof spoilers color matched.

Good ideas, good ideas...will have to play around with the different combinations and see which one fits best...front lip is looking definite though...

Midnight and General I just snapped some photos of my tinted headlights and side markers and as you can see they really don't have any effect on the light output...
(no I don't have HID's even though it looks like I do...I just have extremely bright aftermarket bulbs that I've used in both my Benz and Civic)

Also, you can see the difference of having just the city lights on and having just the tint on the low beams...

Wes, just snapped some photos of my drop too when out so I'll post them on my thread...don't want to over-jack this thread...haha...also, have some photos of the drop from further away from after I got my windshield tint strip done...

Enjoy...
