SL grill on CLK
what do you guys think of the single fin style on our w209's??
i once saw a thread of someone who wrapped the fins in black 3M CF (cant find that thread anymore...dyno? klinh?)
i have a black clk..slowly going for the black out theme (just painted my corner markers OEM black). next gonna vinyl out the chrome.

That has to be klinh's car cause that's what I was thinking...but I wish there was an all black grill with just the star chrome...
Could always paint or wrap it but that includes labor...haha!...

Any problems with the sl star leaving a little gap in the mesh or does it fit flush?

The Silver Clk 500 Cabriolet is mine car. To be honest with you, I like the style but the upper gap of the grill really annoying me from day one. I thought about re-mesh it by using mine lower bumper center mesh and bent it to the shape of the grill and use epoxy to bond the mesh to the grill. The lower bumper center mesh is very very easy to bent shape it any way you want.

my friend has the SL grill on his CLK...its like that piece of spinach stuck in the back your teeth

i was hoping i found a gapless SL grill for the CLk....

The gap I were talking about is mine car.
If they make it gapless like the factory Mercedes SL grill, then they might get sue by Mercedes. Remember some of the replica wheels with AMG logos imprinted on the spoke and got sue by Mercedes for trademark.

Yes. I think you can ask the seller to give you the distronic star style. My star came seperate (not install) and I used double side tape to hold it.

Jumping in late here but there is a bit of a time difference... I also bought the same SL style grille off eBay, a seller in Canada, got it for $160CAD shipped.
