As for removal, on my 2004 there is a brace on top that has the two screws. But it also just snaps in the back of the grill with two short horizontally opposed posts. After that top bracket is removed the only thing really holding the grill in are two other short horizontally opposed posts on the upper ends of the grill. You just gently pry the plastic body word away from them and get them out of their holes. Then very gently work the grill up from either end, because at that point there are only tabs on the bottom of the grill holding it in the bodywork, but they are slanted and need a little finesse and care to avoid snapping them off.
I started this thread on this topic earlier for some more info: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...grill-clk.html

lol will do once i figure out to chrome or to cf. LOL. i can imagine both.
but for the sake of time. i will probably just leave the chrome for now. i can always take them out when i install it on the car if i really want to cf.
looks like a new mod in for the weekend =)
