CLK500 with C55 Airbox

The box just arrived 30 mins ago and just wana share with you guys. Not yet on the fitments but it should be bolt-on. I will post some more pics when the box installed. Just in case you guys going to ask why didnt i get the E55 airbox i have had a chance to buy it but the seller (dont laugh Kevwood lol) . Anyway, im not looking for hp out of this box but the looks( yea i pay for the looks lol) and i'll take it even if there is 1 hp . Thanks Sinister

I'm thinking to take out all the baffle inside the housing. What do you guys think ? There is a thread about that but couldnt remember where.

Here they are,

Congrats Andy. I have always liked the look of the C55 box. Didn't know sinister was the seller. That box will go nicely with the color of the car.

Most AMG airboxes improve air flow. That's why the E55 airbox swap is a common mod. The E55 box has been dyno proven, not sure about the C55.

It bigger in height (taller) diameter. Renntech airbox is the same way. You can really see the different in height when you use the factory front cover with Renntech airbox. The box is almost 1" taller then stock.

Good to know that Klinh that means I will gain some and of course not that much compare to E55 airbox. Did you get like 4hp out of your E55 airbox ? just cant remember...

I gain 4 rwhp with E55 Kompressor airbox. Hooleyboy with his C55 AMG SC gain 10 rwhp with E55 Kompressor airbox. He then remove the airbox and installed the Renntech air box and gain 15 rwhp. But remember, the renntech airbox is taller then the C55 stock airbox and the C55 stock airbox is taller then the Clk500 stock airbox.

Looks great Andy, in fact, it's a hell of a lot nicer looking than the E55 box I got. Considering that these boxes add 2HP here and maybe 4HP there, the cosmetic mod is the real draw. So, in the end, you did just fine

Slap it on and get some pics mate!
