Kevwood's mods - The Mountain of Goodies
Dude, you're still the king
Well, I was pretty dissapointed on the way to work this morning, heavy rear end vibration and I know the wheels were balanced to a pin so you know what that means... bad tire(s). I went back to my suspension tuner after work and we took all 4 wheels off and re-checked the balace and fitmanet, all is perfect and not a hint of movement in the steering wheel so we know it's all in the back end. I'm leaving for Kuwait tomorrow at 5am so when I get back late Thursday afternoon we are going to run a mass balance test on them, we both already know what the result is going to be.
So, here is the real kick to the *** - I bought those tires and had them shipped in from the US with the wheels because you cant get those rear sizes in the UAE (you can get the fronts though) - claiming warranty is going to be nasty for sure. I'm positive I'll have to send them back to the US then have another set sent over - shipping both ways at my expense...
Anyways, snapped 2 pics for you guys, sorry, not great, they were quick and taken inside the shop. Outside in the daylight they are spectacular, the car is getting so much attention on the roads the last day and a half I'm shocked. I think it's because the huge red calipers show know and people notice them first, then they look and notice the CF wheels. Got lots of 'thumbs up' today

Promise to get better pics when I get back, I hate it when work gets in the way of playing!

I like the carbon fiber wheel and your BBK but why with the smaller rotors? My friend's C55 with Brembo GT kit brake rotors and my Slk55 w'AMG performances package rotors almost completely filled the brake calipers. Your rotors look a little more then 1/2 in. too small.
This kit was selected by my suspension and brake tuner to whom builds, operates, drives and maintains their own race team and cars - they know what they are doing. The calipers I have on my track car back home are far smaller than these and they worked just fine too.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I'm sure it work fine or more then what you need but too bad, you got one of the best performance Brembo brake caliper "GT" version and not gonna use it to the full potential the way it designed for.
Please keep in mind that it is not black, it was custom made to match my interior, "MB Stone".
UPDATE ON THE WHEELS/TIRES
got back from Kuwait and immediately took the car in for mass balance and other tire/wheel tests. As expected, the wheels are perfect, not even the slightest run out or deviation - 360 Forged has supplied me with a spectacular product!
Now, the tires...
Both rears, yeah, both are crap and need to be replaced. Fronts are fine but the two rears are obviously blems. So, now the negotiating begins on getting them shipped back to the US and getting another sent over - pretty sure I'm going to get stuck paying the shipping both ways...

Unfortunately my little point and shoot doesn't capture the darks too well, it adjusts for the white and seems to contrast too heavily. Anyways, when I get back from Cairo I'll try and make a point of getting a few better detailed pics.

Should make track days more fun
See below a couple samples

It has a waterproof case that still catches sound - this is pretty much what we do all summer down in Texas Surf:

I'm really hoping to get back to Dubai for the track day this weekend, if I do make it back I'll get the little camera mounted and get some film. I also recently bought the new Sony 3D vid cam (dual lenses and dual processors), I'm going to set that up in the car between the front seats and get some video as well. I figured that would be awesome to watch at home on the big 63" 3D TV and also serve as a good review of my driving.
Always looking at ways of improving.
PS : Awesome helmet cam vid!
