Quote: 53°C=127°F!! Is it at least a dry heat??
Unfortunately no, Dubai is VERY humid in the summer, makes for an awful heat. I'll take 60*C in Kuwait anyday (dry as a bone there) compared to 45*C in Dubai where its very humid.

Got it from an Asian company that makes custom parts, found out later that they weren't supposed to sell me this design, it was supposed to be a "one off" for a CLK63 AMG Black Series owner - it was his design. So, out of respect to that owner I will no longer be posting the company name (I'm sure it was mentioned earlier though...).

Hey guys, sorry about the no action lately around here, I've only been in Dubai 1 day the last two weeks, I took on a few new responsibilities with my company and it's chewing up almost all my time now.

I have to get pics of the car for the mag guy, I fell a little bad for not have anything done yet but between my travel and the weather here lately, it's just not working. After he gets the pics and lets me know the timeline for the online release I'll link you all to it.

Just got back from Cairo...
Haven't been around for the past month as I've been swamped with work and travel, also been working on a few projects for the car and foolishly waiting for parts to be sent to me by another member(s).

Anyways, I was going to get some stuff done on the car last weekend but I ended up locked down in my hotel in Cairo over the weekend, I was staying at the Intercontinental between the US Embassy and Tahrir Square for a friends wedding. So, over the course of 2.5 days I got a lot of video and pictures, CNN used some of them;

This was from the first night when things really flared up, a clip of this video was shown on Anderson Cooper 360* (taken from the lounge on the 18th floor);

http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-841106

This was the next day when suddenly the hotel was surrounded and we went into lockdown, it was shown on a few CNN programs (taken from a room on the 17th floor);

http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-841531

Later that night the fighting got quite bad, my room was down on the 6th floor on the corner of the hotel where a lot was going on, the videos I got of the street fighting that night didn't get posted because the mobile data network was restricted and overloaded. The tear gas was so heavy that there was no way to get away from it, the hotel was flooded with it (inside & out) for 2 days.

Now, back to the car, updates this weekend, got a few more things modded up and ready to be installed.

***EDIT***

I guess they did post one of the videos I got from right above the street;

Glad you were not harmed and now safe. You lead an exciting life....... However, I prefer mine.. It is crazy that one nut can initiate so much insanity. I think far too many people are just in search of an excuse to be at least as crazy as the catalysts..... All the best...

Now get to work on the projects man..

Between moonlighting as a CNN reporter and a million things going on at work, I haven't really has anytime to play around with the car lately, I did get to the shop yesterday where a few things are now done and waiting to be installed. I didnt have much time so I only put one thing on, the front license plate cover;

It really cleaned the front end up by painting it, I also very carefully used some paint thinner and removed the black boarder around the plate itself.

More modified goodies going on next weekend.

Got a few hours in at the shop on Saturday and added a few more goodies. With the Kleemann kit I got a new E55K airbox/engine cover, I figured that I would do a little modifying to it. Ended up adding a bunch of material to the front cover then shaping it to contour around the hoses, giving it a "from the factory" look. Then, sanded it down smooth, painted it body color, gave it the 6600 clear coat, wet sanded it then polished it.

Then when I put it on I added the Kevlar intake tubes I've had sitting in my storage room for a year. Completely changed the look of the car, I'm very happy with this mod (sorry for the really low quality pictures);

More stuff on the way

I believe it's faded 50%, not sure, it was on the car when I bought it. When I get going on the interior overhaul/project I'm having all the tint stripped off and redone.

A bit of an update, took the car out to a few locations and took a few dozen pictures (exterior, engine bay, interior & audio) for the US mag, now I just have to go through them, pick the best 8 and have them sent away for post editing. Once they are done, they get sent to the mag and I will post them up here as well.
