So gaskets came in today:
Put a bead of High temp RTV on the surface of the valve cover before applying the gasket itself then on the outer surface of the gasket prior to installing on the car
Then took the old sealant off of the valve cover breather- there was quite a bit of it
Then resealed the valve cover breather-
Then installed and hand tightened-
Then installed that- waited an hour for the sealant to surface and torqued to 15 ft/lbs. The MB specs are only 8 or so ft/lbs and the didn't use RTV so I think this may be part of the leaking problem so I upped the ft/lbs a little.

Also checked my air filters while I was at it and noticed that a BUNCH of little lady bugs and such were stuck in there:
Got those out
Also dropped a bolt during the process and had to take my front lower grill off and found this guy stuck in there

Car is finally done!
Took it for a test drive and no probs so far but I guess we'll see on the way to work in the morning
Got the jeep back in it's resting place

Lol. The propaganda that has come out of N. Korea over the years concerning that tool is quite amusing. One of my favorites is that he dropped 11, yes ELEVEN holes in one the FIRST time he played golf...

Nice nice! Here they have a JW twin pack that comes with a site of glasses in a very nice case. Naturally I have two sets now

Yeah, $31.99 in Florida maybe - here in Alabama, we pay a high sin tax - that's a $45 bottle at our state-run liquor stores, and over $50 at a retail liquor store! Needless to say, when we go to the condo in Destin, we stock up on booze.

Well just took the car on a 900 mile round trip and not one drop of oil leaking anywhere
Also killed a deer
And this happened

Good work on the valve cover job! So, I assume the deer was killed on purpose, with a proper rifle, and not with the CLK!? Sorry about the ticket (or did you by chance get off with just a warning?)

3. He actually saw tyrone (my dog) in the passenger seat and started laughing- then just ran my license to make sure I wasn't wanted or anything and let me go!

This is the SECOND ticket he's gotten me out of. The other one I was doing 75 in a 55! Literally they look at him and the "dick-cop" attitude goes away and they can't keep a straight face and let me go, it's awesome!
