Need some feedback on a tire size.

Well after running a set of 15mm rear spacers last year and no way to adjust the camber, I burned up my 265's.

There was a slight rub with this setup. No bad though. It took a pretty good bump or dip in the road.

I searched several threads and seen where a few guys had run a 275 in the rear. I would like to jump up to that size this year.

I purchased Ghostrider's camber kit and will be able to dial things in correctly.

I'm not wanting, or planning to run any spacers with the 275's.

Wheel spec's are 9.5 x 19 with a 35 offset.

Can anyone chime in if they see an issue with this setup. Mike

Kind of a high ET for a tire that wide, IMO.

Seems to be the mainstream offset for most the wheels I have seen posted here for a 9.5.

Ya, definitely the most common. I just think that with a 275 you might run into rubbing issues, maybe against the suspension.

I'm looking at getting 285/30/19 in the rear, but I'm more concerned about the ESP light going off because the ratio between the front and rear being off (< 3% difference). So Wes, what ET do you recommend for both of our situations?

IMO 285 might be pushing it a bit. A 275-30-19 compared to the OEM 245-40-17 is 3.07%

Hopefully Kevwood will chime in here. I believe I seen a thread where he ran a 275 rear setup, but didn't mention the offset he was running.

I would say mid-high 20s. It might work, but keep some 10mm spacer on hand JIC. I would imagine the car height makes a difference as well.

Tire brand and type can also make a difference. I can run Toyo T1R with no issues, but when I tried a Goodyear tire (can't remember which one), the rear rubbed like crazy.

I'm running the General Exclaim UHP which have been really a decent tire. They roll quiet and have worn very well. The fronts still look good as new. No way to compare their side wall shoulder to something else.

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
Im currently running 275/30/19s in the rear with ghostriders camber kit, 15mm hubadapters and rolled fenders. my offset is 35. You will def need to roll your fenders and throw on your spacers/hub adapter to avoid rubbing against your struts/liner. Tires are Hankooks v12s.

I've done alot of DIY work on my fenders just to make them fit properly.

275 on a 9.5 is kinda stupid. Not trying to be a jerk or anything.

You can run 255's for minimal stretch, I run a 265/30/19 with a total +10 offset spacers included with minimal rub. (You HAVE to roll up the inner fender lip NO MATTER WHAT).

stay 265 unless you're making crazy power, that just makes it useless and look silly.

Thanks for not being a jerk. Sincerely.

Ordered the 265's. Had no issues until I installed the 15mm spacers. Rubbing, camber etc...

Get the camber kit installed, new alignment, then put the new skins on.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. Mike

What size fronts are you running? Any ESP lights going off? And so I understand correctly you have an ET35 now (Wheel ET50 - Spacer ET15 = ET35) with a little rubbing in the rear, are you lowered too?

I'm running a 265 now (Falken 452s; no rubbing) and I have a slight (tire) stretch on the rear wheel but I want the wheel to sit flush (you can appreciate somebody trying to get everything flush right chrislis ) with the rim (like I have in the front with the 235s) and now-a-days I am making crazy power. I think an extra 10mm on each side will get me flush (tires) and since I'm currently on stock springs, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle (but I want to get PSS9s eventually).

So given all this info, what do you think gentleman?

Carlos, IMHO sell those and get yourself some lightweight wheels with custom offsets to fit some bigger rubber in the rear. So you won't have to use the spacers and shed some weight.

I am running 235's on the front. Yes lowered on H&R's

The rear wheel offsets are et35. So by running the 15mm spacers made the offset et20. With the 265's there was a slight rub in deep dips in the road. A 10mm spacer with 265's would have probably been perfect.

Tire's (265) ordered from TR on the 16th. delivery the 18th. WOW!

Sorry for the confusion. Mike

I suggest the new Forgestar CF5 wheels. You can run the wheels properly. I'm also getting coilovers eventually and will run the same exact setup as I am now.

For perfect flush, with your power I would run...

265/30/19 on the rear, 19x10+15
235/35/19 on the front, 19x8.5+25

That would also clear any brake setup, eliminate the need for spacers, and sit flush, be perfect fitment, light weight, and let you keep the right tire sizes.
