Question Regarding Transmission Fluid replacement, spark plugs, fuel filter, etc etc
So my question is, when should I replace the transmission fluid? I asked a few advisors at the dealership and they say it is "lifetime". While researching online I have found that we should still get it changed, my question is when would be a good time to do this?
the car is an 04.
Also, same question for spark plugs, fuel filter and rear differential oil, when should all these be replaced, whats the general guideline, when did you change yours on your CLK ???
Do what once? Everything on that list?
Tranny fluid should be replaced every 40k miles. I bought my car with 55k miles and now have 70k. I have already changed everything you mentioned and also added some Magnecor plug wires.

I just read that some earlier clks were plagued with the radiator fluid leaking into the transmission, *are you aware of this issue? That just really terrifies me. Some have gone as far as replacing the entire radiator just to play it safe.
Anyone face any issues???

Yea, I changed the rear diff fluid. Definitely felt a difference after the tranny oil change.
You're talking about the glycol contamination. It was the Valeo rads that had the issue and they were usually replaced with the Behr rads. That was the first thing I had checked when I bought the car. The Behr rad is a good indicator you're in the clear.

So you have the behr rad? Any quick way to check... I have a feeling mine has the valeo rad since my vehicle was an earlier production.
Would you recommend changing it if I have the valeo rad?

I have the Behr rad. You could check the rad for the brand, but I forgot the exact place. I would take it in to be checked along with the tranny. A reputable shop should know about the issue and what to check for. Do a search on glyco.

My question is if I do a transmission flush, is it possible that the issue will be resolved even temporarily or am I looking at rebuilding my tranny?
Any advice or experience would be beneficial.
Thanks
