I bought my PSS9s for $1800. Not exactly sure on adjusting them, I just take it to my mechanic when I want to adjust them.

I ordered my 2006 CLK with the sport suspension; I think it was only an extra $250 for the option. The car rides 1/2" lower than stock --just low enough to snag the bottom of the air dam on most parking bumper stops.
I found that on test-driving stock 2006 CLK's that they felt a little less 'buttoned-down' than the car with the sport suspension. I do not know what is different but I would assume that the springs are not the same; the ride was not stiffer so I assume that the shocks were the same.

The sport suspension does not compare with the CLK 55 I tried: that suspension is much better controlled but leads to a noticeably stiffer ride.

New lowering springs will also be very different from the sport suspension.

Yup, but IMO they are well worth it.
