4days and 24 hours of actual detailing writeup

Here is the writeup as promised. I am working my schedule for this around school which is the reason why it took so long.

Products Used:
Exterior:
P21S Bodywork Conditioner
Clay Magic Medium Grade Claybar
Smart Detail for clay lube
P21S Paintwork Cleanser
P21S Concours Wax
Meguires Ultimate Compound
Malco Compound
Mothers Back to Black
Smart Wax
Meguires Quik Detailer
Mothers Chrome Polish
No.7 Compound
Stoners Trim Shine
Eagle One Never Dull
Purple Power Degreaser
P21S Total Auto Wash
California Water Blade
Wheels and Tires
P21S Wheel Cleaner
Smart Dressing
Smart Rim Wax
Glass
Mothers California Gold Claybar
P21S Windshield Booster
Invisible Glass
Rain-X
Engine:
P21S Total Auto Wash
Mothers Back to Black
Smart Dressing
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

Tools:
Hitachi Buffer
SM Arnold Pads
A lot of microfiber towels
A few microfiber Mitts
Popsicle sticks

My hands
A stool
boars hair detailing brush
Air Tank

(some of the tools)

I started by making sure the garage was fully clean. I vacuumed dirt up with the shop vac. I organized my microfibers and tools need for the job.

I parked the car in the driveway

Next came washing the car. First i took off the plates, then i gave the car a thorough rinse

I sprayed P21s Wheel Cleaner on the wheels

I used a sponge to work in the cleaner. Then i rinsed it off

I used P21s Bodywork Conditioner for the paint and sprayed P21's TAW directly into the wheel wells and undercarriage

I washed the car one panel at a time starting at the roof and working my way to the bottom.
There was alot of dirt built up around the emblems so i used my boars hair detailing brush to brush away the dirt

After washing the car i rinsed all of the soap off and pulled the car into the garage(yes the car was still wet)

Next up came clay-barring the car. I used Clay Magic Medium Grade clay bar along with Smart Detail as the lube.

After claybarring the car i pulled it back outside and rewashed it using the same method. The camera died so i couldnt take pics at the time. I then dried it using my California squeegee, and lots of drying towels, and pulled the car back in

i was always wondering how the car would come out if i used 2 different waxes together...so i did. you'll c how it came out.

I started with SmartWax with a blue microfiber applicator

After coating the car in Smartwax i let the wax cure for a while. After curing rewaxed the car with p21s wax.

I did 2 coats of P21s giving it 24hours between each coat to cure.

After waxing i shined and polished the trim
back to black on back trim
trim shine in wheel wells
SmartDressing on tires
SmartRimWax on wheels
eagle one never dull on door handles, all chrome trim, tips

i claybard windows because i forgot to earlier. after claybarring i cleaned windows with Stoners Invisible Glass, and then Rain-X.

There was some wax residue left in between trim pieces. I used Popsicle sticks wrapped in microfiber cloths, plastic knives wrapped in microfiber cloths and assorted plastic drink stirrers.

My friends call me insane but i will never stop doing it(you guys r prob gna call me wierd too), I then waxed my liscense plates because i like them shiny and put them back on the car

Nice write up with pics. I am gonna do the detailing as well. Just waiting for the weather to be nicer here.
As my car is black and the paint is in horrible condition, i expect a lot of work with polish.

Once again, GREAT WORK!!!

Great work man, very impressed with the time you took to do it right. I've got a ton of detailing products sitting here waiting for me to use also but I need to wait for a day without wind - the slightest breeze carries a lot of fine sand with it.

$500 for a full detail like that? Man, I can only dream of that here! I talked to a guy with a great reputation with the Aston Martin club and for a full detail (wash, clay, wash, 3 step polish, wax and sealant) he charges $1500USD.
