Now that you mention it, I'm almost positive my C did as well when I bought it. I think there was a menu setting called 'audible lock' or something like that that I changed. I haven't noticed it on my CLK though.

so the only way is through the dealership? is it an actual beep or a horn honk like most cars? i like the little beep sound that the newer bimmers and audi have...

My friend has an 07 C and he has both the beep and Panic function....

lol, You wouldn't think I was lucky when the cops came knocking on my door at 5am because my alarm was going off and waking up the whole block (before I had a garage and it was on the street). Then I had to drive it around for an almost two hours with the alarm going off and people looking at me like I stole it. Then scratching a brand new 19" rim against the curb trying to double park half asleep.

They said it went bad. Don't remember the exact reason, I could look through my receipts if you need the info. I honestly don't remember how the old alarm functioned, it was only a month or two after buying the car.

Unfortunately for us europeans the beep is just not an option. The mechanic at the stealership told me its a north american thing for the car to beep when lock button pushed. Ive never seen this feature on this side of the atlantic so it wasnt a big surprise for me.
