Ride is still that Mercedes feel of a ride...definitely go bilstein and choose your preference of spring pad...make sure your offset is flush too though...

I don't have spacers I have a wheel with an offset of ET25 all the way around...the stock AMG wheel is ET 35?...but I'm probably wrong...what offset means in simple terms is the higher the offset (ex: ET35) is closer to the caliper, but if you get a wheel with an offset of ET25 like mine then the wheel is push outwards closer/ flush to the fenders...
Discount tires has a great illustration online of wheels/ offsets...
What spacers do is push your wheel for example with ET35 outwards so a 10mm spacer pushes the wheel with an offset of ET25 to look like the ones I have... ET35 + 10mm spacer= new offset of ET25...
This is a basic way to explain it but it gets the point across...

Town fair tire had your Mandrus in 18's with tire for about 1400.

as far as the wheels go, you should just get the wheels your want (assuming they arent custom forged), then get a measuring device and measure the distance between your tire and the fender. add that amount of spacer and you should be flush. if you wanna go "hella flush" then add more.
BTW: In the first pic I linked, all the red spots are possible clearance issues.
