Multi-Thread: Crashed my car/poll which bumper?/new intake system you have to try!
Decided to put all three topics in one thread instead of making multiples...
Some lady pulled out in front of me because 'the sun was in her eyes'... So I swerved to avoid her and drove over this traffic island hitting the blue sign:
![](http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/faith777_DTH/IMAG0444.jpg)
And cracked my bumper/pushed my foglight back:
![](http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/faith777_DTH/IMAG0446.jpg)
Her insurance will be paying for me to get a new bumper and I'd like your input.
Brabus, reiger, clk 63, or this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_6117wt_1143
I'm probably leaning towards the reiger...
Last but definitely not least - Intake! I found an old vacuum cleaner hose laying about:
![](http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/faith777_DTH/IMAG0450.jpg)
And I attached it so that my car sucks in air through the stock air intake aswell as sucking air from below the car:
![](http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/faith777_DTH/IMAG0451.jpg)
The gains are insane! Its like a whole new car! I will do a full write up for those who would like to give it a try. I'm sure I've gained at least 30HP.

are you sure your insurance is paying you for a new bumper. i recently go rear ended and they only paid for a paint job. =/ keep in mind if you you go with any other bumper that aggressive, your skirts and rear need to change with it.
i saw brabus tho lol 4 fogs!

Lol about the post above, why you say that, gains must be insane, i think this is the best intake mod ever.

To the bumper, rieger and the ebay one are ugly as hell. If i was you, i would consider prior bumper, take a look on their website. Their bodykit looks great. If not, then go with brabus if you want to keep regular sideskirts and rear, if you wanna go AMG body allaround, go with clk63.

How expensive are the prior design bumpers?
Guys, seriously? Why would I ever connect a vacuum cleaner hose to my car lol

The 63.
Instead of the vacuum hose how about a blender, beer can and a banana peel. You know, the infamous flux capacitor setup on that Delorean in Back to the Future? HA

The 63 style one is pretty expenisive as i found out, you can buy OEM for that price.
But the one on the grey W209(first pic) is EUR359 (cca USD520).

I am hoping that the vacuum hose is a late April fools joke... ![slap](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/slap.gif)
as for the bumper... unless you plan on finishing out the other body mods at the same tine I would stick to something subtle like the AMG or 63 but be aware that switching to the 63 is not as simple as a bumper swap... you will also need new fog lights and brackets, don't get your hopes up on insurance paying for these upgrades.
I glad you were not hurt and at the damage was minor... good luck with your selection.

Glad you're alright. My vote is for the CLK63 bumper, but the Prior kit looks good (the one without fogs; kind of reminds me of E9X M3 bumper). Keep in mind, it will be hard (and $$$) to buy CF lip spoilers for those bumpers. A more affordable route could be an 03-04 Kit with a lip spoiler.

Insurance company's here in Sweden doesn't cover for example a new amg bumper unless the car was sold with it from factory. If you have stock and upgrade to amg and crash it you'll get a stock bumper from the insurance.

I'm giving them the option of either replacing the stock bumper (which will cost them more) or for me get an aftermarket bumper that will cost them less.
