2007 clk550 with 55K leaking valve cover
1. Is this common?
2. Do I need the valve cover gasket?
3. Should I fix only one side? The other side is very clean.
4. Should I replace spark plugs?
5. Should I replace the belt?
I will be replacing the air filters any other suggestions. Bought the car about two weeks ago 2007 clk550 Designo with 55K miles. The car is in excellent shape and very clean inside and out. Thanks.

It looks like I will have to remove fuel rail and some of the electrical wiring to get access to the valve cover. I will also have to jack up the car, remove plastic and retrieve thing that fell. I am getting too old for this shxx my last two cars were new.

I think I found the problem luckly I did not have a chance to fully remove the valve cover from the head. I think there is a recall on this issue and its not the valve cover. Can someone please confirm I also created a thread on the article.
What is the torque on the valve cover bolts? I removed like ten of them and there still more than 5 left.

Unless it got the new "direct injection" fuel system, the injectors goes straight down through the head and not through the intake manifold like the old system.

...take it to an indy or the dealership if you can't figure it out...
