So far I'm happy

18x8.5 32 offset Michelin Pilot Supersport 245/40/18
18x9.5 35 offset Michelin Pilot Supersport 275/35/18
No spacers - more importantly - no rubbing
No suspension mod's (considering the adjustable camber to help with tire wear)

Nice setup you have! Are you considering lowering the car?

Thanks. I figured that question was coming I am a bit nervous with lowering given these nasty california road (pot holes) conditions. That said I will be looking into it. Goal would be to get as much of the "look" without killing the comfort....if that exists. Recomendations welcomed. Next Mods slated are an exhaust cut out to make this thing sound like a 5.0 and Im kicking around the idea of using vinyl wrap (chrome) on the windshield surround.

Mercedes-Benz CLK320 W209
This Thread Is Extremely Helpful!

Hello all,

New to the forums, but have been lurking for years. Owned a w210 before purchasing my w209 and this forum helped keep my E-Class on the road for 1/4 million miles, so thank you!

This thread particularly helped with fitting new wheels/tires on my W209 and being new to the world of staggered wheels it was a life saver.

Ordered a set of AMG Reps from USARIM who were helpful, but had all the knowledge I needed from here.

Stock Suspension / No Spacers

Wheels:
F: 17x7.5 / R: 17x8
ET 30 / ET35

Tires
F: Cooper Zeon RS3A 225/45/R17
R: Cooper Zeon RS3A 245/45/R17 (Went w/higher sidewall due to pot holes around here)

Cooper is outside the box for me, but went with them for 2 main reasons.. They compared favorably in online reviews to the Conticontacts I've always used.. but most importantly they're asymmetrical treaded, so I'm able to rotate tires side to side. So far, I love them and the ride has been awesome.

The car has 35,000 miles on the odometer. Will stock struts be OK with H&R springs....thoughts anyone?

As per the pic, I've added DW48 wheel with 15mm rear and 10mm front spacers. Also have a CF front lip. BTW, car is in storage for the winter....ony took it out to take the pics.
Geez...looking forward to no snow, sunny days smooth roads and these 19" lovelies!

Cutting it close for the front, but You might be ok with out spacers. if you get coilovers you will need spacers. It's been a while but I think you need to be somewhere around 28 offset in the front.

Thanks ... What size tires should I run to get the clearance I need ? Would like to run probably the biggest size I coukd without any rubbing so I don't have to sacrifice looks for comfort ( although I'm aware I will be doing so with 19" anyway...) Boston is known for having some terrible potholes !

I think ET33 in the front would be alright. I've seen plenty of people run ET35 all around and they get them to fit. You should be fine.

I'm wondering if you fine folks could help me out...I have the opportunity to buy some wheels for my W209. The wheels are:

19x8.5 +25 front / tires 235 35 19
19x9.5 +28 rear / tires 265 30 19

Will I have any problems with these fitting?

thanks!

Test fit first. The fronts should be good, but the rears might give you problems. You will most likely need to roll the rear fenders.

hopefully CLK 500 AMG-07 next week
This is a great thread. I have been checking this out for couple of months, and also looking CLK 500 cabriolet for myself... I have finally found a CLK 500 cabriolet with AMG-package(option 950),5.5L 387hp, European model, sport suspension ( option 486)..

I have beem thinking of gettin Eibach Pro-kit springs to get the front a little bit lower and upgrade the wheels to 19''.

MB-dealer offers me 19'' Lorinser Rs8 wheels...

for front: 8.5x19 et26

for rear: 9.5x19 et26

They say that tires would be front 235/35/19 and rear 265/30/19 ? What do you guys think about this setup? maybe 225/35/19 - 255/30/19 would be safer....

And there is also a set of new 19'' Carlsson 1/16 wheels on ebay.de...

for front: 8.5x19 et 28 (original is 40, but Carlsson has a 12mm spacer)

for rear: 10x19 et 29 (original is 45, but Carlsson has 16mm spacer), with these Carlsson says that rear fender has to rolled and some modification to bumber...

And also 235/35/19 + 265/30/19...

I would like to keep the car almost OEM-style...

It depends on the offset and the width of the wheels. Also, if you're lowered or not.

Usually people upgrade to 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. Yes that car is lowered.

Yes i know, but i will have less mass with less J.
Plus i was looking for authentic benz rims ,from what i know they can survive greek potholes while replicas dont.
