if you want i have an extra set of 10mm front spacers you can use to see if they work or get measurements to see what you need. You can have them just pay what ever shipping is

I don't think it'll work. Front is flush right now and inner strut clearance is really tight.

Please post the pictures and I'll take some right now and compare them.

Maybe W211 E63 wheels that you have are different than the W212 E63? I don't know.

Can you get a picture of the inner clearance (next to the strut)?

yes there are 10mm spacers on mine in the pics. Your stick out farther then mine, you have to have a ton of room between the tire and strut

I'll try to get my car on a lift soon and if there's enough clearance, I'll take your 10MM spacers.

Just to confirm with my friend, you have 18x9" wheel (I'm assuming ET37) with a 10MM spacer effectively making it ET27 with 245 front tires?

What offset and size spacers are you running in the rear for the 285 drag radials?

I'm not sure of the offset of either rim, but they are 08 e63 wheels,
in the front i have 245/40/18 with 10mm spacers
and in the rear i have 285/35/18 with 10mm spacers

I just checked online and 2008 E63 wheel front is 8.5", not 9"

Thought they were 9 and 9.5,
Still either way that would change my offset calculations but tire size clearance would be the same. 245 tire on an 8.5 or 9 is going to be the same

Yeah but now it might hit the strut because it's a wider wheel itself. Or will it? Not sure man haha

2003 CLK
2003 clk 200k with 8.5Jx18 all round? shorter bolts, or add spacers?

evening gents,

been lurking on here a while, since i bought my black clk about 6 months ago.. im enjoying driving my car and reading your posts..

so, the car.. its a 2003 200K.. probably not even made in the american market, however... my car has the original 16 avantgardes which are scuffed to sh*te.

Fronts 7Jx16 ET37
rears 8Jx16 ET32

So i found a set of AMG replica wheels which i had posted to me, only to find the bolts on my car are way too long to do a straight swap. the new wheels are all 8.5Jx18H2 ET35 with 225/40R18's and are very nice looking, however..

original wheels 7J fronts, 8J rears

so these are a few pics of the new rim..

radius bolts?

radius bolts??

the gory inside of the new rims

so, the bolts that hold on the 16's are 60mm length and when put through the new rims, extend about twice as far as the old rims, so much so you cant tighten the wheel to the hub. i tried front and back wheels. goes right through and out the other side.

so my question is, do i buy shorter bolts and fit them straight on, or buy spacers and use the original bolts? any advice gratefully appreciated

thanks,

g

you will have to buy new bolts, they make the head in 2 different styles also, but its not uncommon for that, it isnt the fact the one are 16 and the other are 18's. its the style and thickness of the wheel itself, also you have to be careful they arent to long and hit the brakes on the inside. So after you put the new ones on spin the wheel by hand to make sure there is nothing touching

What is the best brand bolts to get? My Forgestar cheap bolts broke and have been using temporary bolts supplied by my shop for the past few weeks.
