install one of the longer ones you have, and measure how much is sticking through when its mounted and do the subtraction

What size in length are the shanks on your lug bolts and how much of you lug bolts bolted on your rotors?

why don't you guys just convert to studs and be done with guessing sizes on lug bolts? it offers a really nice convenience when changing wheels often.

So I am looking at the CLS 19 OEM AMGs for a full size spares I know the offsets will work but do you know if the stock lugbolts will work or do you have to change them?

Question In need of advice and guidance

Hi Forum,
I am finally looking to replace my oem 17" five spoke AMG wheels and am looking at 19" Mandrus Mannheim's, 8.5 @ 32 offset and 9.5 @ 35 offset. I do have the sport suspension (factory lowered, coil overs, bigger front calipers?), so my first question is do I have the clearance?

Secondly, what tires sizes are recommended? A couple of online retailers are showing 225/35 in the front and 255/30 in the rear, but I've had a sales rep suggest 235/35 in front and 255/35 in the rear. But having the same sidewall ratio on a wider tire will give me a taller tire in the rear -- this guy can't know what he's talking about, right? So my real question is whether I should go 225 or 235 in the front (assuming 255 in the rear). Or should I even go 265 in the rear?

As you can see, I need help! Thanks in advance for your input.

Vin

Fitment

What year is your clk55 and what suspension?

If you have bigger breaks 32 with coilovers won't come close to fitting.

I have an '07 550, but I can't remember if the sport suspension package (aka AMG appearance package) included larger front brakes. They are cross-drilled, so I'm pretty sure they are an upgrade from a base model.

Look at my threads. I have a fitment post.

There are alot of posts touching on your exact questions.

Ps 235 35/255 30 is fine. I would do 265 since 35 ET is not aggressive.

There are 43 pages in this thread. I searched for posts regarding the factory sport suspension but resorted to posting my own question. Again, these are factory coil overs, not aftermarket, so if a 32 offset won't fit, what will. I prefer to not use spacers if I can avoid them.

because is never heard of a clk550 coming with coil overs from the factory. The sport suspension and amg package you are referring to does not come with coil overs

Okay, I just found a post from Rodney on Benzworld which says the sports suspension has sport-tuned shocks and struts, with no mention of coil overs. That said, so a 32 offset would work, right?

And to confirm jkiddd, you are suggesting 235/35 and 265/30 on the 19's, right?

Thanks for your feedback!

I am not 100% sure but since its not coil overs, 32 should be ok. If coils at least 25 ET upfront on a 8.5.

Also yes run 235/35 and 265/30.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Just installed my new wheels and tires and got a fresh alignment to boot.

Excuse my ignorance, but aren't these coil-overs?

They are nearly the same thing. the biggest difference is adjustability.

your picture are springs. they provide one ride height.
coil overs are springs but with an adjustable "seat" that allows you to adjust the ride height. so in the coil over pic there's a red metal piece the spring sits on that can rotate on threads compressing the spring to whatever height you want.

Hello all,

I bought this CLK recently. But I don't like the wheels that much. As I would like to see what you guys think. If you had these wheels shown on the picture below, what would you do? The info is as follows.
A. Post a pic of your car - see below
B. Post wheel: Size, Width, Offset. - 225/40ZR18 front, 255/35ZR18 back
C. Tire make/size - Hankook V12 EVO
D. If using spacers-size and manufacturer. Shortened lug bolts or not.- no idea
E. If lowered- what manufacturer and how low. Also, if using a camber kit or not. - not lowered
F. Any issues with your setup or warnings about previous setups - no issues

Front wheel

I recently bent and cracked a front wheel. It was 19x8.5 32ET. The wheels are discontinued and I don't feel comfortable with a repaired crack in the barrel. I was able to find the same wheel in a different size. Would these fit my 550. 19x9.5 ET45. I would add a 10 mm spacer. Would these clear for the fender? Keeping the 235/35/19.
