Well the first concern is to improve the handling and cornering. To reduce the boat style movement when going around roundabouts(rotaries?) and also to reduce the magic carpet feeling when you're travelling over 100 on the autobahn. ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
But also to try and maintain the comfort on many of the bombed out Baghdad style roads. Not much eh?![Stick Out Tongue](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
I think the looks will come as a side effect of improving these factors

I have heard the Koni adjustable are excellent, but you would have to decide on springs (probably Eibach since H&R are lower). Combine them with some sway bars and you should be good to go.

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
My set-up is 19's 8.5 in the front and 10 for the rear. Please see the picture 'coz I'm thinking of putting 275's in the back. Please advise me if this is possible
Thanks,
Jay

Hi Guys, I'm new here and just picked up a CLK500 recently. I was too excited and I think I jumped the gun too quick and purchased a set of 19" rims that "might" not fit my car.
The guy I purchased them from had them on his W203 C320. He listed in his ad that the rims would fit all C-Class, CLK-Class, and E-Class vehicles. He assured me that they would fit on my car so stupid me took his word for it and now I can't get a hold of him anymore.
Here are the specs of the rims according to him:
Front - 19x8 ET30 with 225/35/19 tires
Rear - 19x9.5 ET31 with 255/30/19 tires
I installed these rims using the lug bolts and wheel locks from the OEM 17" AMG rims that were on the car but my car does not want to move forward or reverse afterwards... seems like something is stuck. I mount back the stock AMG rims and the car moves again![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
After doing some research, I assume I need to purchase shorter lug bolts and wheel locks but I have no idea what length, size, or type to get. Do I need new lug bolts because the offsets have changed?
Based on the info I've give on these rims, will they fit my car without any modification such as adding spacers, fender rolling, and etc?
This is my first set of aftermarket rims so I'm a complete noob to the aftermarket rim/wheel scene. Please forgive my lack of knowledge in this area... before this all my vehicles had stock rims from the factory.
Thanks

Just FYI my OEM wheels use a lug shank length of 39mm, while aftermarket wheels use a 25mm shank length.
Here's a great place to call and shop for some with great customer service from Phil.
http://www.radusadirect.com/
The rears are more than likely hitting the ebrake. With a wheel off stick the bolt in the wheel and measure how much is sticking out the back. A good rule of thumb is 18-24mm or 3/4-1". 6 1/2 turns to seat is another method to check for proper length to seat.
Good luck with it. See you on the boards. Mike

Welcome to the group B2B. Wheels and tires are both ok. Just need to invest in some new lug bolts.

So all I need is new lug bolts? Then I can just mount the rims on directly WITHOUT any spacers, fender rolling, modifications and etc?
I just checked the link you posted and there are so many types of lug bolts. Which ones fit our cars and the rims that I have based on the specs I listed? I see M12x1.5, M12x1.75 and M14x1.25, M14x1.5 sizes in either Ball or Cone seat. I also see shank sizes 23mm, 26mm, 28mm, 30mm, and etc. but I don't see 25mm as you suggested.
As well, do I use the same shank length lug bolts for both the front and rear wheels or do I need different sizes?
Lastly, I see that they are offering lug bolts in different finishes such as Black Zinc (nickel plated), Chrome (zinc plated), Dull/Flat Steel (Dacromet plated). I prefer the Black coloured lug bolts but I'm worried the finish will chip off easily. Also, is the quality the same for all lug bolt finishes or is one stronger?
Thanks again

Thanks for the warm welcome and quick response Mike. I look forward to contributing to this wonderful board and begin the journey of modding my car.

The bolts should be the m12x1.5 ball seat type. As far as the wheels go you need to look at one of the OEM wheels and one of the aftermarket wheels down in the lug bolt holes to make certain the seats look the same. Some aftermarket wheels do use cone seat.
You should be able to use the same length bolt front and back.
The length of the bolt you will have to determine yourself by measuring how much is sticking out the back of the aftermarket wheel. No more than 3/4-7/8"
Color of bolt is your choice. Dacromet coated is OEM

they just did a test fit on the wheels, but because a flood at UPS warehouse f**kin "destroyed" my springs i now had to order new ones. Now i have to wait for them to arrive
... the wheels will be on my car but they wont look as good as they should until the car is lowered
How long did it take to install the springs?, how much did you guys pay to have them installed???
ill take pics with the actual camera tomorrow, this pic makes the wheels look like **** but whatever... they are 19x10(275/30/19) rear and 19x8.5(225/40/19) in the front. The front tires on the car are actually specially made for the bmw m3 lol, they actually say M3 in the sidewall. They fit perfectly though.

YES they OEM caps do fit our wheels except for the MBZ-430 style
as for the style MBZ-615-19-GMT coming in silver we do not offer it in a silver but we have been working on getting it in I have had a few customers send them out and get powder coated.

I just wanted to update this thread with my latest setup, I have added 10mm Spacers and new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (235/35/19 on 19X8.5 Front Rim, 275/30/19 on 19X9.5 Rear Rim). My car is not lowered.
Tires: I haven't driven the new tires enough to really give a comprehensive review but initial impression is that they have tremendous grip and have a comfortable/quite ride. I was previously running 265/30/19 Falkens and they had a slight stretch on the rears. The shoulders of the Michelin tires are really wide so now the tire is flush with the rim. After alignment, I can easily say that if I was lowered; there would be rubbing in the rear.
Alignment: Searching the forums and the net, I found that I lived near one of the best alignment shops in the LA area, West End Alignment in Gardena, CA. There is a 3 week waiting list, but I set my appointment and waited for my appointment day to install the tires; I also added Ghostrider's rear camber kit and the H&R spacers two weeks earlier.
When I arrived, Chris looked over my car, asked what I have done to it/was there any previous issues and what I wanted out of my setup. They then did the initial settings, had me enter the car and made more adjustments (they were impressed of the quality of Ghostrider's Camber arm). I then meet "the man" Darin and he explained clearly what was going on with my car and what they are going to do as far as adjustments. Darin then asked me to take a test drive and make sure it's perfect (if it was off by even a degree, he wanted to know). It was off very slightly, so I returned and Darin made another adjustment and I did another test drive. PERFECT! The level of detail of the adjustments, suspension knowledge, professionalism, and customer service is all top notch! I HIGHLY recommend Darin, Chris and the rest of the West End crew!![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I am amazed on how good my car "feels" now with the tires and alignment!

That's awesome Carlos, I'm happy for you dude! ![Wootrock](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wootrock.gif)
Looking forward to further impressions on your boots in the coming weeks. Hopefully I'll have some new shoes in about a months to review as well - I'm going to do a head to head between my PZero's and the Invo's eventually.

Just got the Ghostrider's Camber kit installed two days ago. Very well made product with no noises so far. Looks much better now, still need to get the alignment but it feels better already. After alignment I need to put the 10mm spacers on the rear and should be done with suspension.
