I can't believe how much I hemmed and hawed about the $17, but I ended up buying two sets, one for my wife's E. Now that I've handled them, I can't imagine they'll survive more than a couple of on/offs, if they don't just fall off while I'm driving. I don't want to spend money on chrome lugs cuz I'm sure the impact wrenches that the mechanics use will wreck those too......

nay... I would just paint them as needed if you wanted the cheap route, or by a decent set of lugs.

Also, if you're worried about them falling off you could use a little bit of that adhesive that stays flexible on the head of each bolt to hold them on there. It would still be fairly easy to pop them off when needed.

+1, I had chrome lugs on a car back in Canada for years without any corrosion issues - a lot depends on how many tire changes you're going to be doing though.
