H&R Spring Owners
Anyone here with 18' wheels and 225/40/18 tires riding on H&R springs? If so could you kindly measure from the CENTER of your hub to the edge of your fender and let me know how many inches it is? I'm looking to get my GF a set of springs but i wanna know how it'll sit compared to my drop on my KW V2's. Lastly, how does the H&R ride compared to stock?
Also, anyone know any info on K.A.W springs? How is the ride quality?
Thanks inadvance
Here is a picture of how to do the measurement.

Front is about 13.5, rear is about 13 (this is of course the fenders in the front have a higher arch, the actual frame sits slightly lower in the front than rear). Also, it doesn't matter if you have 14" or 20" wheels on the car, the relation of height between the hub and fender is 100% in regards to the suspension, aka, spring height.

Anyone have a pic of H&R springs with a #1 pad and #2 pad? I wanna see how much the difference is.
Also, how much are the pads? and how hard are they to swap out?

The pads aren't too hard to switch, you have to compress the spring. THey are only like $3-$4 through parts.com.
#1- 5MM 2103250184
#2- 9MM 2103250284
#3- 13MM 2103250384
#4- 17MM 2103250484
I think there was a #5 pad also.

Not sure what your car comes with, but the dealer should be able to tell you. Let me know what they say.

The stupid dealership said "those pads won't fit on a CLK". For some reason he thinks they are for a SLK

Ugh! What's funny is that they start with 210, so if anything I would think they would say they are for the 210 E class. lol
The part numbers aren't wrong. I have ordered a few sets myself.

That's what I presume because I have eibachs and went to spring pad #1 to even out the back end without bagging it like the H&R's do...
Also, not all w209's came from the factory with #1's...it depended on the accessories and features the car had...the pads are used as a fine tuning device for the suspension from the factory...

OK the posts are great however are confusing - I have stock springs put 20 staggerd on car with spacers to get wide look (Looks awesome but my front needs to be dropped back looks good so how would you folks just drop the front 3/4 in to 1 in) or am I looking at Lowering springs then having to play with the pads to offset the height diff from Front being higher then rear....I was hoping to just change the front pad but it sounds like stock is already a #1 pad - correct? Thanks for info or if any one has a setup like mine let me know ur pad/spring setup. T/Y

The front of the car doesn't have pads, that's why people change the rear pads to match the front. The only way to lower the front more is the cut the springs, which you shouldn't do, or get coilovers.
