*HELP* Fog Light Issues
Hey guys, Ive had my 04 CLK 500 for about 3 months now and im just getting around to doin custom work on it which has led me to my fog light issue. When I bought the car I noticed the fog lights were missing and I was aware that the previous owner had hit a deer and done some slight damage to the front bumper which was replaced. Well for some reason the numb-nuts didnt replace the lamps, nothing is there but the mesh... I cant find the wires nor a Diagram showing where they would terminate. Can anyone help me with a picture or a diagram that would show me where they may have cut them, "it if this is what they did", so that I can replace them. Trying my best to keep away from the stealership. Getting tired of the left/right fog lamp error.
Thanks...
Thanks...

If you don't already have a new set of fogs to put in there, eBay has them regularly. Also, there must be a bulb connector tucked up in behind there somewhere, it would be very strange if they cut it off and tucked the wires into the loom
Good luck.
***Edit*** Hopefully someone can get the info you need but if not, I will get you the wire colors and a pic as I am going to be changing out my fogs fairly soon.
Good luck.

Thx but im planning on going with the 9 LED bar and fabbing a custom housing to hold them.....I have a cool idea with colored plastic slides that i want to use to change the color on the fly by sliding them in front..... BUT... if It tanks or I get frustrated and scrap it Ill pm you if you still have them....
thx
thx
maybe you should start from checking the wires from the LCM to the fuse box, and go from there I'm sure your fog wires are SOMEWHERE, just hidden.
you might have to cut the existing fog brackets to put the LED bar. you can probably fab a mounting clip and U shape to mount to the bumper bracket. tough, but I've been thinking about doing something like that.
But now, how would you solve the mesh issue.

That's funny, I was driving though Helena today and saw where they had an English Car Club show this weekend and I though to myself that I should look into the existence of a local MBZ club! Yes, I'd definitely be interested - PM me!

Fog light wiring issue for a 2003 CLK500
I have the same thing. I have a 2003 clk500 and the previous owner hit something that tore the driver-side wiring from the fog light and I cant find any trace of the wire. Does anyone have any info that could help me find the wire(s) or to re-wire the fog light from the point of origin. I've tried to trace the passenger fog light wires back (brown and green wires) but they (or I seem) to get them lost. Tired of the driver-side fog light warning always being on
Please help

The wires from there go up past the washer reservoir and wheel well liner;
Then, they pass behind the headlight housing and up along the fender;
That should be enough to help you find the wires now, good luck.

Follow up-
Do you know or have a pic of where they connect into the fuse box? One of the issues I'm having is that I've tapped the wiring harnesses that lead to/from that direction and I can't find in brown and green wires. Other the remnants/tape that should have rapped the wires near where it attaches to the fog light

Nope, no idea. But now that you know the routing of the wires you can identify them and follow them further.

I finally got around to getting to the shop and getting some pictures for you. First you can see the fog bulb connector and the wires (colors);
The wires from there go up past the washer reservoir and wheel well liner;
Then, they pass behind the headlight housing and up along the fender;
That should be enough to help you find the wires now, good luck.
