Windows won't move up or down?

2000 320 CLK Convertible
Windows won't move up or down?
I have a 2000 Clk 320 Convertible. The battery died (because the wife left the lights on) and after I jumped it, everything worked fine except the windows won't move up or down.
I called the dealership and the parts guys said that they needed to be "reset". Does anyone know what he's talking about or what I need to do to get the windows to move again?

You probably want to check with the guys over in the W208 forum since that's what your car is, but regardless, the window switch function is the same. First of all, do the switches work at all or is it just the auto up/down function? If it's just the auto function, you can perform the reset. Basically, you press and hold the window switch in the up position until the glass is fully raised, then you hold it there for 10 seconds - you should hear a faint click when it resets.
If the windows won't move at all, check the fuses - pull them out and inspect them. This will also "erase" the auto up/down setting so if something is badly out of sync, it might make things work again.

Hey Rodney,
Thanks for the info. Ends up, all I needed to do to reset the windows is push down and hold the convertible "red" button. As long as the top is locked down, this feature will roll up the windows.

Go 'noles - unless they play Auburn :-) By the way, Coach Jimbo is married to our friends' daughter (Candy). He was also my cousin's college roommate. I've never met him except in passing years ago, but I hear he's a great guy - I hope to see him do well, but of course he's got some mighty big shoes to fill down there!

hello all
new to the c class,wife & i own an s55,my question is concerning the 98 c43 amg she recently purchased for step son,turns out the radio does not work,after calling the local mb dealer for radio code it does turn on & we have sound for about 1minute,then it like the unit is slowly turned down & off,not sure if i coded it in the proper key position,previous owner said after battery was replaced radio stopped working,after i disconnected battery & reconnected it,now im having power windows issues,all windows go down ,but not up,all fuses ok.

DLS - you need to head over to the W202 forum and see if those guys can help with the radio. As for resynchronizing the auto up/down window controls, all you need to do is, one at a time, fully lower the glass, then press and hold the button in the UP position until is is fully raised, continue holding the button in the UP position for about 10 seconds, and that will do it. Repeat for each window (and sunroof).
