Hard to find....CLK550 Loaded?

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a loaded CLK550 for about 3mos....It's really hard to find what I want. I'd prefer Iridium silver/black interior, but will take anything but red.

The options I want are the thing that is hard to find. I'm looking for a 2008/2009 with P1 & P2, keyless, contour seat, bluetooth, climate seats, power trunk and parktronic.
Right now it seems like this car does not exist. It seems silly that BiXenons are not standard on the 550.

I'll have to whittle down the options I suppose...Just venting to youse guys....

If you want the contour and ventilated seats, then you are looking for a P3 car. The real difference between P2 and P3 is the seats as far as I know, although I have seen a few called P2 where somebody paid for the seat option separately. The one option you listed that does not exist at all on a 550 is parktronic - or if it does I have never seen it once on a 550. I think it was only an option on the real AMGs. The first owner of my car added aftermarket parking sensors. Other than parktronic, probably 10% - 15% of 550s have the contour seat and 30% have keyless go. Quite a few have the trunk closer.

Blame the dealers - they decide what to order. I was always baffled when the dealership where I worked would order a V8 cabriolet without and HID's and KeylessGo. The manager's argument was "price point", but would a person looking at a $70K vehicle really fret over an extra $3K in options? What's even more strange is that those options had a very high MSRP and a very low invoice price. With MBZ's average markup being 7.5%, adding things like this was a great way for dealers to bump profit, but few did it.

The good news is that HID's are a fairly easy retrofit. KeylessGo is not an easy retrofit (if at all?). Other options, like Multi-Contour seats can be retrofitted, but at this point, you'd have to find the parts from a "donor".

Thanks, but I dont think there is an option group called P3, or at least I've never seen it. After P2, I think the Nav, contour, ventilated, keyless and bluetooth were all stand alone option ON TOP of the $3800 P02 package. That would make a fully loaded CLK550 with all options about $70k sticker price!

You might be right about the parktronic. My buddy has a CLK63 and he has them, but I've never seen it on any late model CLK. Ive seen it on some older 320's and 350's though.

OOOps
Just found one on Ebay.....

P3 PKG[P03]
Cost: $3720.00
Details:
CD Changer
Premium Sound System
Satellite Radio
Heated Driver Seat
Heated Driver Seat
Heated Passenger Seat
HID headlights
CD Player
Power Tilt/Sliding Sunroof
Bucket Seats
Sun/Moon Roof
Driver Lumbar
Passenger Lumbar
Cooled Driver Seat
Cooled Passenger Seat

Looks like the only difference between P02 and P03 is the cooled seats - which you can order separately...Who thinks up this stuff????

How much are you willing to pay? I don't have parktronics, bluetooth or cool seats, but I have everything else. My car is 09 silver iridium with grey interior. It's certified with only 23K miles, under warranty. Just got the car less than 6 months from a dealer.

I might sell if the price is right. Looking at the new E class coupes lately and love it.

Yeah, definitely there is a P3 because I own one. The "cooled" seats also comes with with the contour option as a package. You may already know this, but the seats are not really cooled. It's just little fans inside the seats that draw air through the holes in the leather. If you were driving my car and I asked you if the fans were on or off, you'd guess wrong half the time if I covered the dash button up. It's really sort of silly. I sometimes think I can tell the difference, but I may be imagining it. The best part about the option to me is I think the seats look better. I like the look of the perforated leather, partly because of the holes and partly because it is fit tighter on the seats. Look at the seat backs (front or rear) in a car with and without the perforated leather. The ones without have like pleats or "wrinkles" along the center line. It's a different look. The perforated seats look more "sporty" to me.

Interesting that Eddie's .pdf of the 2009 does not list a P3 package. This explains why I dont see P3 on the 2009's

I currently have a 2011 VW CC Executive with the VR6/4 motion and it has ventilated seats....and I cant really feel them, but I sure can hear the fans when they come on....Like Yidney says, the best part is that they are real leather and perforated. My buddy's Cadillac Escalade cooled seats will literally freeze your buns off.

Thanks. I wanted a black interior.

I think I found one with everything except the trunk closer. It's 1500 miles away - halfway across the country, but they are willing to split the shipping costs. The price is great, and miles are low.

I'll keep youse guys posted if you are interested.

When I finally found what I wanted it was almost 700 miles away. Was cheaper for me to fly up and drive it the 10 hours back than shipping it. Granted, yours is over twice that far so maybe not an option, but it sure was an enjoyable drive. Good luck!

Shipping is going to be $700 and the dealer is willing to split it, so for $350 I cant fly out there and pay for the gas to drive back.

Considering what the CLK cost new, they are a smoking great deal a few years later.

I agree about the value of pre-owned MBs. There's another thread about MB vs. BMW vs. Audi and, as a buyer of preowned vehicles, there's no comparison. I'm on my 4th and 5th MBs, all bought 3 yrs old (all returned leases) still under warranty. All were more than 50% less than original list, and all were terrific. A 3 year old BMW is a pricey headache and a 3 year old Audi is an antique!
