2004 CLK55 Quad Exhaust Setup
Sorry guys, had to make my own thread about this
Wanted to join the club of exhaust threads lol
I've also posted this in the CLK55 forum.
Here's an exhaust clip
http://youtu.be/eBqYqSZQ1EQ
I've gotta say it sounds INCREDIBLE! Love the low end growl upon startup. The video does not do justice of how the car actually sounds, a lot more rumble and low end bass.
What I did:
3" piping all the way through starting from the primaries
X-Pipe designed muffler in the center and two high flow cats right after
The car feels much more responsive now. A bit of drone when reaching higher RPMs but it doesn't bother me much.
Will post drive by's and a cold start vid later on.
On to the pics!
Solo Performance Mach X3 X-pipe muffler
Secondaries out
Right side cutout
Isn't it beautiful?
System in place

i dont think 3" would do a lot...unless you have forced induction. maybe add a bit more to sound level.
EDIT: whered you get your tips?
::CALLING KEVWOOD:: LOL

I went with 3" because that's what's stock from the secondary cats.
Just took it on the highway today and man... does it scream...
I feel guilty every time I rip it. It's like I'm committing a sin lol
I got my tips from a forum member here

Looks good, definitely done by a shop that pays attention to detail.

Looks like the weather there is holding up really well still - it was hellacious cold in Calgary a week back.

Lol, I thought the CL55 was yours
Both cars look great in their own way. But man o man do I love the face-lifted tail lights on a CL55!!
I'm also liking the pre face-lifted clk tail lightsmore and more. I might just swap them back next spring

Did you simply cut out the stock rear valance ?
How would you figure out where to cut without some sort of template?
It's really a clean look!! I like it a lot

I like the pre-facelifted CLK tails as well. I thought about updating but I'm going to keep it like this.
Yup, the muffler shop cut it out. They did it purely by eye to match the other side with no template. They do this a lot of on other cars so they're pretty good
