Thank you everyone by CLK killer + need opinion on new ride

I think I can qualify to be a CLK killer. Few years ago, someone rear-ended my W208 w/o braking and totaled my car because he was DUI at '6PM' .

Few days ago, I had a similar situation, everyone slowed down and stopped, the car right behind me didn't notice, so he move to the carpool lane suddenly, he didn't hit me; however, the car behind him was too close and hit me w/o brake.

Today, Marcos Auto Body told me it's 99% totaled. (the 1% is because it's unofficial) I hate it! Especially I just fixed my rear seat belt, and gas tank for $800. I ordered a spoiler and delivered a day after the accident. Not to mention the group buy headlamps.

I don't know if I will get another CLK, but I just want to say thank you everyone in this forum, you guys has helped a lot.

CLk Killer!

CLK63 Black Series
Sorry to hear it, it sucks losing a car to the carelessness of someone else. You should replace it with a black series this time

lol at first i thought 40k and 80k was the price and i was like wait....
anyway, it's a matter of functionality

if you're married, have kids, and need a daily driver: cls550
otherwise, get the clk :p

same engine, clk is faster.
both look great though and are awesome investments :3

You need a really large SUV like an Excursion! Glad you weren't hurt.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Definitely the CLK! Reliability is much better and I'd always go with lower mileage. Besides that, the CLS feels downright cramped inside and the rear seat is not much better than the CLK coupe's.

That one never made sense to me. I've flirted with the idea of Audi, but I have a CLK and an E350; the A6 is an E350 comp (or wannabe).

That's more like it, but, as I would have predicted on THIS forum, CLK is bound to be the choice. You should ask that question on the CLS forum as well, FWIW. CLS is based on E chassis, so it's "more car" (and less quick, as was pointed out.) The miles would be the killer for me though:
the CLK is still under warranty.

Also, I'm not as speed/power-obsessed as many here, but I remember driving E420s and E500s BITD and they were rockets, IMHO. I would guess the CLS is a rocket, while the CLK is a bullet (I love metaphors;-))

Thanks everyone for the reply, now new question is: is there any (big) different between 07 clk 550 and 08 clk 550? Thanks! (sorry, I am still shopping) I found a CPO A6 for $23k, but still having CLK in my mind, 08 CLK may be too much for me for now, so I will move to 2007.

make sure the 07 model doesn't have the balance shaft gear issue or w/e it's called!
