I always loved that color. I just saw a clk550 coupe that color yesterday. I think the blue looks fresh and up to date. If they knock off that extra $2500 and the history on the car is clear then I would go for it. You will run mid to low 12's with just a tune alone

Well found another one in San Fran.. Allot more options than the other.
33k on this one and in sliver with wood trim just like I want. Asking price 40k.

No pics yet on the site talked to the guy MB dealership and says it looks great but of course he would say that. Anyone in The SF area close to SAN RAFAEL,CA 94901.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Sounds great - if it's good in person, I'd go for it.

Badazz.
Go up to San Fran, buy the car and hit the tranny bars before you leave?

Torque converter whine on start up. Gearboxes harsh changing under high torque etc. In fact the salesman that I know from previous purchases said to me "please don't buy an AMG unless it's brand new or I am going to have to put up with your complaints".
I could not disagree with this more.

I am on my third used AMG. No problems. Just have to know how to buy. The lesser versions of CLK's also get their share of abuse. I would say it is more dependent on the owner of the vehicle than trim level.

To the OP, I would go for the AMG.

More than possible. I understand the aged drive them gently in SoCal. Where I come from AMG models are generally driven hard I'm afraid.

The pix are up on their site. One thing I don't understand is why it doesn't have the quad exahust pipes? It's top of the line CLK 63 AMG, even the older CLK 55 AMG had quad exhaust pipes???

Looks like this 63 AMG has everything possible except the dual exhausts. It's also a C.P.O. vehicle, that's a sign it's good quality.

I'll see if I can go this weekend to check it out.

If you look on AutoTrader there are 10 or so '07s for sale - none have quad exhaust.

If you do drive it, post up the seat of the pants comparison to your 550. I wonder if the difference will feel dramatic in any driving you can do in the real world.

If you are talking about the CLK63 convertible, it only has dual tip exhaust/one muffler because there's no room for dual mufflers under the car while the coupe has quad exhaust/dual mufflers.

I won't buy another convertible again, so no worries. I had a SLK in the past and I rarely put the top down because its always so cold up here, even with the heated seats and heater.
Too bad I'm not living in sunny SD.

If you decide to buy it, can I get first dibs on your 63 wheels when u sell the 550? Put the stock AMG 550 wheels back on and sell me the 63 wheels. ; )
