AMG CLK63 Almost
Almost purchased a CLK63 AMG yesterday, they wanted 39998.00 they were willing to give me 21000.00 for my CLK 550. Diff of 18998.00. Could have had him knock off another 2500.00.
CLK 63 has 42k on it I attached the PDF of the original sales sticker.
When I drove the CLK63 it was really nice fast and fun to drive, but to tell you the truth I felt my 550 felt better and was quicker off the line. My 550 has a few Mod's new exhaust and lowered and has Adjustable Koni's and a ECU flash.
The guy who appraised my drove it and said hey man you car is much sweeter than the CLK 63 haha.. Lucky the sales guy was not around..
Any ways attached a few pics. I really think if it was Sliver I would have bought it and do the same mods to it I did with the 550. Still thinking about it. What you guys think about the blue..
I took pic of my car next to it and I really do like the Silver alot better.

Dont know if I would have pulled the trigger either based on those facts but the pictures make the blue look very nice IMO. My problem with blue is they always seem to look different in person than in pics but that could just be my old eyes.

CLK63 and no xenons, I'm not impressed with it. Louie, your car looks better in silver.

Nice colour. I did not think they were available without BiX.
Sometimes AMG cars are like sitting on a time bomb. If you have any doubts don't do it.

I was suprised also but I guess it was just a option in 2007 not sure. What do you mean by sitting on a time bomb. Problems ?

You need to make sure that used AMG cars have not been driven really hard. They can be very expensive to repair when things go wrong - even in the US where things are a lot cheaper.

Your are absolutely correct about that Yindey, The color was a main selling point on me if am going buy something it going to be something I want, then again I was like a kid in a toy store and caught up in the moment.
The other half of me is the car really worth the extra 18k 19k be nice to have a AMG but I really cant tell a huge difference yeah its a AMG and yeah it has allot more horse power. After that its really close to what I have already.
I know this if it was Silver they would have had a sale that day. Now today looks like I totaly talking myself out of even buying one now..

Good. I looked at AMG's when I bought my 350 recently. I was looking at cars with max 20,000Km's on them. I picked up problems on all but one AMG I drove & it was black - I hate black cars. Torque converter whine on start up. Gearboxes harsh changing under high torque etc. In fact the salesman that I know from previous purchases said to me "please don't buy an AMG unless it's brand new or I am going to have to put up with your complaints".

Personally, I think your 550 shows better just based on color alone. Not saying that the blue is a crap color but for some reason it just doesnt look right to me.
To each their own right?

I like the color - Cadet Blue - that's what my CLK550 is. It's too bad I couldn't have found that when I was buying mine last year - I'd have jumped on it! I really wish I had KeylessGo. HID's can always be added on DIY.

I would have never bought a silver car - or so I thought. That is until I saw my CLK in silver - it works really well with the body lines. That blue is really unique, but the lack of Bi-X would make it a deal killer for me. I drive home thru the canyons daily and the AFS/Bi-X are a hard give back.
It still boggles the mind that they are not standard on a $100k car....
The good thing about most So Calif AMG cars is that most of them are not beat on. More often than not, they are piloted by the over 60 crowd. The biggest risk is door dings as they circle the supermarket parking lot looking for the closest parking space.

I'm still amazed at the prices on cars in US, ~$40k is a steal. Used CLK63 go for $60-70k in Europe.
Go for it Louie. I know you like your 550 and it's a great car, but AMG is an AMG, and that 6.2L engine has an incredible sound and lots of torque.

Yeah! but look at their sticker prices. Our cars are better appointed but twice the price.

There is nothing better looking (IMHO) than a clean, well-maintained black car. Heck, even a good black finish on a crappy model makes it look good. Of course keeping it clean and spotless and without swirl marks is a challenge. You'll find yourself pricing water de-ionizers and the highest grade wash mitts, polishing compounds, and exotic waxes.

I know the feeling since I own AMG past/present, it pretty special feeling when you drive an AMG. Eevry times i took the CL55 and now Slk55 for a drive, you get that feeling of driving one of the AMG cars. My mods Clk500 Cab. is better looking now then a stock Clk55/Clk63 but every times i saw an Clk63, the AMG badge on the trunk make me wish I own an clk63. At $40K, i would buy it. But to trade in your 550 plus another $18K, I don't think it a good trade.
