I feel your pain as I have a black car as well. I try to keep the area well waxed, usually put 3-4 coats on in this area each time I wax the enitre car. This seems to prevent at least a major part of the finger nail scratching. Still a bit but not nearly as bad.

Not sure about these on a silver car, as pictured in the ad (chrome would have looked better), but I think they would be unobtrusive on a black car, and look fine.

Now, about those goofy hood-vent fins...

Yup, I have them. Bought them on ebay. Can't remember the seller. I know it was the same guy I bought the CF license plate surround from. I was a bit skeptical at first, but they go great with my theme.
