I can't see it in that picture, either. Maybe that's why I never noticed it was even there before. I think I've only seen a handful of Deisgno models anyhow (ironically, mostly on CLK's).
I love that little bit of wood over by the glove compartment. I always thought the right hand side of the front interior looked kind of bare, this cures that. Is that part of the Designo trim. I don't believe that's been on any of the cars I've looked at.
I've heard that the wood on the glove box handle is avialable from Mercedes if your parts guy knows where look - like it was only in europe or something - but you can get a perfect match for about $55 from ForMyMercedes.com. I have one.
Thanks for the heads up. All I need now is a car to put it in. Got 3 I'm debating on.

My wife just tried to put her purse in the trunk at the beach and it wouldn't stay closed. She thought it was broken till I pointed out that it won't let her leave her key in the trunk.
There is different logic to the various keyless systems on the market. All of them attempt to prevent you from locking your keys in the car by not allowing the doors to lock when the system detects the key still in the car. However, some systems are smart enough to recognize that there is one key outside and one inside, and will still allow the car to lock, say when you have the your key in your pocket, but your wife's key is in her purse which she wants to leave in the car. I can tell you that the Lexus system does not allow this, but most others (Chrysler, Nissan, MBZ, that I know of) do. Also, MBZ has a "hidden key" function which does allow a key to be locked in the car. It has to be placed in a very specific location in the center console. This was done so that you can lock one key in the car with out the other key being in the outside proximity, say when you want to leave the car for your spouse who has her key with her, but is not near the car.
